Im starting to clearly see that Rmoody is just an Apex wannabe that just hates madden to hate it...for what ever reason why..I swear to god i could go take the best past madden to date, NFL2k5 or APF and have a field day on them if i were purposely hunting for glitches, bad AI logic and flaws..its not hard to find flaws in videogames..because they are just that..videogames..why cant they grasp this? It boggles my mind...to the 10th degree!!

Apex ..while i dont agree with alot of his recent videos..i think he's a cool kat ...just because he keeps it real, alot of my homeboys are like him..Rmoody comes off as a wannabe that just hates madden and will find anything possible to make it look bad...lol, i had enough of him, im not looking at his vidz no more..it was my own damn fault for peeking at his M10 vid impressions lol.

I just want to make myself clear..i dont have a problem with people nitpicking but make sure you have some legitiment gripes first..because when you start picking at a videogame for perfection..its all becomes moot and meaningless. I had a HUGE problem with the presentation in madden for years and years in here..i would b1tch about it all the time..but i knew inside this sort of thing would make a night and day difference if the dev's just focused on presentation..and it has, the demo is proof of that..b1tching about perfect AI Logic is just silly..videogames will NEVER be able to match human logic..yeah some games may have did it a bit better but its all a wash honestly..all that really matters is that we have a fun game of pigskin imho ..and M10 has delivered!
Wow. Well stated. I love when people cry about what they deem is another person crying. Glad I had to search to find it after somebody asked me why I wouldn't respond.

If you for real have issues or constructive criticism for me, why not just send a simple PM? You obviously know my name, you used it 6 times in your post.

Instead you choose to type 2 paragraphs of nonsense about me an bury it 120 pages into a thread? Lets be better than that, ok?

Maybe you don't like what me, what I have to say or how I say it, but at least be up front about.

Have you seen one? Because I haven't.

I'm amazed at the progress EA has made. Well done Ian. I think I'll hold onto it this year.
I think the biggest difference is that they got rid of the filter from 09. I actually liked the filter and I hope someday they give us visual controls to be able to tweak these things to our liking, but for whatever reason in 10 it looks better. It just has more clarity. I'm very impressed with the visual quality of this product.

Dude it IS a video game. I know this comes as a shock, but to quote Kurt Angle "it's true." If people want real football they should join a local association and play football. Madden is a game. Yes it's great to play sim, but one has to accept there will be certain things to make the game more accessible to everyone...such as the warning as the playclock is running down.

what is the beeper sound on the playclock? I haven't heard any beeping noise, or at least I haven't noticed it

OK, Now, the demo...

First off, I want to say that I am VERY impressed. The slower, more realistic game speed is an excellent change and makes the game play out in a much more realistic manner. I played a full game (Cards/Pitt) and I saw lots of things I liked, and some things I didn't like.

Passing Game Observations:

The passing game FINALLY has made the jump that I have been waiting for. It's not totally there just yet, but it's pretty damn solid. The ball doesn't look like a cannon ball shooting through the air anymore. Wobbly passes look great and passes bounce of of receiver's hands just like they do in real life. You can now pass the ball over the middle without a super human LB jumping 5 feet to pick it off. The trajectory of the ball is very realistic now too. I threw a pass to Boldin in double coverage and it was tipped by the defender, Boldin reached for it and got a hand on it, and then Breaston lunged and caught the deflection. The entire sequence looked fantastic. I saw Roethlisberger make some overthrows and under throws. The QB movement feels much better than it looked in the videos also. Jamming a receiver at the line actually exists!!! When I pressed I saw my DB push, tug and even knock over a receiver at the line. It was awesome. Being able to throw the ball when you get hit is cool, but it always does the same bad throw. A lame duck just shoots out at a 45 degree angle and sits on the ground like a brick when it hits the ground. Hopefully this will be different in the retail version. One of the best things I saw was when throwing to the sideline either on corners or outs, the receivers now have sideline awareness and you can see them attempt to keep their feet in. It looks pretty good. It's not quite as nice as 2k's awesome sideline animations, but it's pretty sweet and looks realistic.

Player Movement:
Being the monster 2k fan that I am, player animations have always been a big deal. Everyone has been fretting over Madden's player animations and physics. I am happy to say i was pleasantly surprised. It's actually done quite well. There is still that occasional "shotgun blast to the back" tackle animation, but most of the time it looks very realistic and the gang tackling looks and feels great. The blocking and OL/DL interaction looked and felt pretty good to me also, and I could see the pocket form properly. No more running outside the pocket and throwing across the field. Admittedly, I did not see much evidence in the vids of the procedural awareness, but when playing the game it shows up quite nicely and really adds to the realism. Pretty cool. The throwing styles of the QBs is also very cool and adds a lot to the game. I did not see any "rocket catch" or "jet pack" or whatever you madden experts call it.

Miscellaneous:
Play calling seems solid and the O lineman seem to do their job the way you draw it up. Pulling guards get in proper position and running backs hot routed to stay in and block pick up blitzing defenders quite well. On defense, man coverage seems to be much better now and you can actually use it again, although I'll need to play the real game more to tell.

Conclusion:
If you are a guy like me who has played nearly every console football game over the past 25 years, you just want a great NFL game. NFL 2k5 was that game in 2004. I don't have a biased opinion towards any particular company. I just love realistic football. I've always been a harsh critic of madden over the last 6 years. Only because I want a great game. I think this game looks like it could be a real winner. It has some flaws of course, and there are a few things I wish were different, but coming from a big 2k fan like me, it's certainly looking like a solid game.
Ditto. Ian and company have won me over. Great, awesome job. I am impressed. I can't even play NCAA 2010 anymore. I'm thinking about trading it in when Madden comes out. My apologies to the NCAA development team.

We've made it this far without the beep, I think we would have been okay. The box turning red after 10 seconds was enough.

Sorry but when you are trying to make a game as life-like as possible, additions like this one are uneccessary and takes away from your goal.
