As long as it's not happening too often and with only the players you expect that out of.
Execllent post. If it doesn't happen too often, then kuuuuudos to EA, for including a truly logical possibility (depending on the player), and great looking animation.

Not the same. In your vid, the player is getting hit in rapid succession, found a hole and slipped out of it. In Madden 10, the player is wrapped up by 3 players with 1 player pushing the pile. Everybody is on him all at the same time, no holes to slip through. he just powered out of it from a dead stop. Out of the 15 or so games I have played, this has happened 6 times.....4 times by Parker lol. Once by Boldin, I forget who did the other one.

-On a side note, the break tackle animation where the ballcarrier and defender go toe to toe, wrap up, then the ball carrier says, "Nah-aw, son!" and lifts the defender up with his arms and knocks him on his ***.............................I hate that animation. Happens too often and looks really really bad.

That's why I said it reminded me of it. Also Parker is never at a dead stop or his feet aren't off the ground, they are moving the hole time.

The Texans one, Demeco is the only guy who legitimately tried to take him down with all his strength, but then just lost grip or whatever.

I've seen guys like Maurice Jones drew, he does this thing more often than others. The vid with Parker doesn't scream unrealistic to me. Because a lot of the best HBs power through or slip through tackles and make amazing plays on a weekly basis.

If you say 6 times in 15 games and Boldin and Parker were the guys doing it, that sounds about right imo.

Things like this though, it's hard to judge it based on a demo. A lot of this nitpicking stuff in general (not saing you're nitpicking at all) can only be judged when everyone gets their hands on it and when tons of people start saying "Too easy to break through a gang tackle." then you know it's a problem.

Ian,

If you are listening...you guys did a fantastic job and I will buy Madden for the first time since 2000. That's almost a decade. I played the demo yesterday about 4 times, the animations were very real and fun (Jacobs trucking through the D) and the AI is amazing. Very fluid game...with the exception of the slow speed (not a biggie, can be configured with retail release). I have no real big complaints on this demo. On that note, I really hate that stupid camera angle that shakes when you break away. It really sucks...but I dont really care about that...just had to throw that in.

I love when the QB is getting rushed and gets hit while throwing the ball, but still gets the pass off...the D has opportunity to intercept. Good stuff...
Keep up the good work!

I'm amazed at the progress EA has made. Well done Ian. I think I'll hold onto it this year.

soft on the L stick can get the job done.. 3rd and 2 and I pull through for the 1st:

well executed sequence. some may say that should be the norm and is so basic and I agree with that, but I thought it showed some positives in the run game. It has its moments and here, this one shines through

Nice emotion shown here on a big KR hit:
