Its happened a few times on 5 yard outs too, but on the replay there was another reciever on a short out to the right side that was open. Seems only when the back gets turned they cut before the reviever makes the cut.

The only big complaint I have about it so far is that the CPU defends the pass really well. They jump every route and have stickum on their hands. This is only on All-Pro, not even on All Madden.

I like EA, they just oversell what they do sometimes. It seems I read on the madden blog that the 'eyes in the back of defenders head syndrome' would be fixed. I Also didnt like accelerated clock; the commercials on TV make it seem like a 5 minute demo.

Man defense was a little soft last year, but I also think its soft in real football. This games man is messing with my reads. Against man, I try to throw on the cuts the reciever makes. In the video I posted, the defender cuts a split second before the reciever does, the AI appears to cheat the route.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

I threw a pass, WR jumped for it and it hit him straight in the numbers... and then went through him and out the numbers on the other side. Stuff like that isn't a death knell but it's still annoying. Also had a bunch of plays where the DB and WR overlap a LOT, like some sort of schizoid siamese twin.

I've also had the pro-tak experience where it's 4 guys mob the ball carrier and somehow all four guys just fall down and the ball carrier takes off. Before, you'd have had at least a couple shots at him, but now he can in one fell swoop break the tackles of half your team simultaneously and there's no one left to stop him.

One play (on pro), I forgot the controls changed and hit the bumper. My lineman jumps, falls down, spends 5 seconds getting back up, re-engages the defender, beats him, then runs over and tackles Eli. It was at the beginning of a quarter and the clock read 0:48 at the end. He impersonated a statue in the pocket for TWELVE SECONDS without passing it, scrambling, nothing. None of my other linemen could reach him in that 12 seconds either, it was a user-sack.

I'm not down on the game -- it looks miles better than any of the previous next-gen madden games. Just saying there's still plenty of room for improvement :-)

I love the slowed gameplay. I knew 09 was very not-fun for me and I think the speed was a large part of it. I would have never figured that out without playing the slower version though.

The game speed and presentation is excellent.
One thing I miss though is page numbers on the playcall screen.

Also, a video pointing out positive. Good to see.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

Ok i cant stop playing these damn demo's. This game is rock'n

Its soooooooo much more fun to play with the presentation added. It just makes it feel "complete" now... even without the commentary in the demo believe it or not lol...i hope the commentary dont make it feel worse hehe as i know its 2nd rate commentary but i'll live with it, trust me. Making a TD and having the presentation celebrations kick in automatically with out me having to look for a blue box in the endzone or having to press a button for the celebration to kick in does wonders for the FLOW of this game...seriously, such a little thing makes a huge difference. NCAA dev's, please take note of this..seriously, i had a huge problem with when you scored a TD and your guy would just stand still as a statue ..it killed the overall flow of the game..now with Madden10..soon as you get passed that goal line..the game seamlessly in a very smooth way goes directly into a TD Celebration..such a huge improvement in the flow of the game and excitement of scoring.

One thing i want to point out that a few others have said, the 1 minute demo seems more polished then the gamestop demo. I can really tell..maybe its just the speed of the 1 minute demo being faster? I dont know..i can still run the rock just fine with the 1 minute demo, i can still see the holes open up with enough time for my brain and hand to react.

Anyways, every time i play these two demo's..it puts a BIG SMILE on my face, seriously. Im no giddy teeny bopper neither..im a 34 year old sports gamer that has finally seen the day where Madden has taken one HUGE step forward.

This again leaves me baffled with the negative cheap shots by some people in here..i cant stress enough in how much better this game is this year over previous years...which keeps me dumb founded each time someone jumps in and says the game sucks.

By the way.. the Depth of Field used in Madden10 is top notch. It really helps cover up the blemishes of using sprite based crowds..and gives the overall look of the game a very realistic looking game. The visuals as i said about 10 times in this thread are amazingly better then last year overall..helmets also are super sexy this year too.
