Yeah, but those are more easily blocked anyway.

The big problem is body hooks/uppercuts, and those aren't any harder with TPC than with the buttons.

I'm still wondering about this stereotype about if you play with buttons, you're a button masher. What about the people that strategically use buttons? I never button mash.

I'm still going to use TPC..dont care, even if I think that face button haymaker punching is delporable.

Hope everyone is happy now.

Check out the editors note in this article.

"Just as a small editor’s note (an editor who’s also a professional videogame reviewer), the Total Punch Control system mapped to the right analogue stick is slick, accurate and devastating when used skilfully.
Anyone pining for button control integration in Fight Night Round 4 is simply not a very good gamer and should perhaps try something a little less testing… like waggle-friendly Punch out!! on the Nintendo Wii."

Sounds no different than someone on this thread who is an advocate for TPC. Honestly, this guy sounds very ignorant, and insulting to the pros that have mastered the button controls. Just because he's an editor doesn't make his word gold. Check out what PastaPadre had to say:

"Now though I almost want to go back to the buttons. I’m finding the stick to be inconsistent and too mechanical in nature. Rarely am I able to counter and in many cases I’m having to think about the type of punch and motion involved instead of going off reaction. This is especially the case with haymakers where you’re required to hold the RB which is incredibly awkward. I pretty much have forgotten about attempting to put combinations together. Not to mention that frequently I’m making motions with the stick and no punch comes or the wrong one is thrown.
The ironic thing is that one of the main reasons for removing the buttons was due to imbalance vs the analog stick with online. What that actually means is the buttons were more effective and precise. Now you just have people online stick “mashing” basically meaning nothing has changed. A proper fatigue system could’ve balanced things regardless of the control scheme being used. However people are throwing punches like crazy and not having to pay for it. Against the wrong person online it makes for a very frustrating experience."

I'm actually a little worried if they tweak stamina for online. Remember that it doesn't only deplete by throwing a massive amount of punches - it also decreases when you get hit by body shots. My worry is that online might become nothing but body shots because it will tire the other guy out so fast.

I'm VERY happy to see that they're adding it as a slider though.

Yeah that's a pretty good point about body shots. Hopefully they take that into consideration.
