Re: NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available, Post Your Impressions Here

I have held off responding to this thread for as long as I could but I think it's time to say a few things. Put me in the minority but I PREFER THE DEMO OVER THE 09 VERSION! Yes, I admit it, I enjoy the game very much and here is why.

Well done:
The band
Game planning
better stat overlays
L2 Defense philosophy (what's it called again???)
mix and match uniforms
penalty frequency
injury frequency
new injury system
bowl endzone art
cpu QB deep throws
player lock (I love it!)
the new camera angle
field goal nets

Yes, the pass rush for the gamer is terrible (but cpu pass rush is very strong). I am still choked about no FORMATION SUBS, NO REFS, AND NO EDITABLE PLAYBOOKS but overall I am really enjoying playing the demo. Originally I said I would not buy the demo without formation subs... I may change my mind if the rosters and cpu pass rush get fixed.

I can guarantee you that this isn't on Heisman and probably not on All-American. The first thing I did when I downloaded the demo is try all of that on the Heisman and I couldn't be regularly successful with those tactics. On the RC's the "wrap swat" was very effective and the DE's never let me drop back more than 10-15 yards. One time with Tebow I was able to drop back about 25 yards, but I was quickly sacked when I tried to get outside the Tackles.

Agreed. One of the first things I did was try and scramble arund with Tebow. The D is much tougher on Heisman this year than it was on 09.

I played the demo again and still can't see why people hate it so much. It's a solid video game. The new animations are pretty sweet and make every play seem original.

I played one game on the demo on Heisman as Florida.

I noticed an awful lot of 15 yard facemask penalties every time I went to tackle an OU ball carrier or receiver.

Did anyone else get a lot of these?

Did you set your defense to be really aggressive? I play my defense conservative always and rarely get penalties.

In the 2nd half, every catch the CPU made was an over shoulder catch it was ridiculous..doesn't matter I'll still get it..just I found alot of annoying details in this demo.
