Re: Official NCAA Football 10 Demo Impressions

I just downloaded the demo and I've played two games on Heisman difficulty.
In my first game I controlled Florida. I won 28-17. I scored two special teams TDs: one was a kick return TD and the other was off of a fumble that I forced when Oklahoma was returning a kick. The passer stats were Tebow: 5-8, 130 yards, 6 carries for 27 yards, and 2 TDs; Bradford: 12-16, 181 yards, 2 TDs.
I then played with Oklahoma and on my first two kick returns I scored two TD's. I then got owned on offense each time I attempted anything and threw 3 INT's. I lost 28-14. I don't know the stats because neither QBs were the players of the game.
Whenever I was able to get pessure on the QB he'd always throw it as I got to him. about three times I'd use a move, get around the line, and tackle him as he threw it.
I was pretty happy with this demo regardless. Most games will probably be high-scoring but I'm finding this game pretty fun. There are a few mis-throws per game on both sides and they're increased when the QB is under pressure. I think the graphics and lighting are much improved from last year as well. Also, the offenses aren't given helpful spots like they were last year.
I've liked most a lot of what I've seen in the demo and I can't wait for the game to come out. The AI looks 100x better than what I've seen in the videos that Steve has uploaded for us. And I haven't seen any zig-zag running in both of the games that I've played.

Positives

1.Tebow ran three times on me near the goal line, obviously something that is pretty realistic. Overall Florida seemed to run their offense a little better than last year. He also took off on one play when everybody was covered.

2. RB/QB ai when running the ball seemed a little better, they seemed to do a better job hitting the hole.

3. Coverage on certain routes did seem to be little better even though there was still way too many open guys it seemed.

4. Good to have endzone art

Negatives

1. Pass rush was non existent. There was 0 sacks for both me and the CPU in two games and very little pressure even on blitzes. And that so called pocket that I see people calling good in this thread isn't even a true pocket. DE's don't get upfield on passing plays and DT's don't creat any kind of push. I didn't manually control the d-linemen either because I wanted to see how the CPU defensive linemen would perform.

2. The QB play still seemed to perfect. Not one pass hit the ground without being dropped or knocked down first.

3. Blocking on option plays and qb choice kind of plays is atrocious. Kind of a gamekiller when my favorite team uses a spread option offense.

4. Late pitches are still in the game, have no idea why people in this thread are claiming they are not. I had a couple with Tebow that were even worse than last year.

5. Still pretty questionable cpu playcalling at times. Florida in the first game was calling runs with under a minute left in the game, when they were trailing.

6. The running is still too twitchy, momemtum doesn't seem to exist in the game.

7. I know this is just a demo thing but seeing the same two tackles over was pretty annoying. Especially considering one of those is a horse collar which isn't even legal.

Overall the demo still didn't change my mind about not buying the game. I will still give it rent but no way am I buying this game unless it blows me away when I rent it. I just can't overlook the fundamental flaws in this game
+1

Does anyone know if multiple camera angles are confirmed this year. I hate this rotating one with the blimp style coach cam. I just wanna use the default one that was in ncaa 09.

Re: Official NCAA Football 10 Demo Impressions

I have to say the demo actually was better than the videos we we've seen. I had about 3 errant passes with Tebow that hit the ground. The worst of those being on an in route to an open reciever while i was under no pressure. The CPU got me twice on the deep ball, one for a TD. Bradford threw a great pass to the corner of the endzone another time. I could not run the option though due to poor blocking. On defense i got called for facemask multiple times after i told my team to strip the ball. The CPU could pressure me, however i was not as successful. Usually Bradford got the ball off to fast. I did also have one nice looking play where right as the ball got to the receiver coming over the middle, my saftey destroyed him and the ball flew about 15 yards and hit the wall behind the endzone (did not go through it like usual). The one hit stick i did looked very realistic along the sideline. One of the tackle animations was overused though. I'm glad it is better than those videos though.

Dang, I found another glitch. Tim Tebow slides. Please address in the patch.
