It's not going to be the Franchise Mode we all loved in the mid parts of the decade, but it's a start.

A better FA mode too, I was getting really tired of offering 50 people contracts and then rejecting JUST so the CPU will pay attention to them. Apparently the salary cap has been fixed (God, I hope) so we won't be seeing some outrageous releases. (Like Tom Brady, AD, Peyton Manning and having them rot in the pool for years)

With all that, I'm set.

I'd really like to know If Imported draft classes gets the same treatment as Josh's though. I don't mind using Josh's, but I can't avoid the realism from draft classes.
Here's an idea for ya. This is what I'll be doing actually. 1st franchise year, hand made class. 2nd franchise year, NCAA import. On and on switching up like that.

That way you get your gems and busts with the handmade classes and the NCAA players are coming in to the league. So you'll have that mix.

Man I cant wait.

I still can't see how a mere 30 odd inbuilt classes is a good thing. I'll be shocked if repetition isn't an issue. Why not just have a pool of thousands of prebuilt rookies, and then have the game randomly pick them for each class while also scrambling names and slightly modifying some attributes randomly like weight, height, age etc, i.e., not rating attributes. Put some code in that tries to keep the random class balanced if need be. Something like this would effectively be a class generator really.

Or why not just make an engine that generates rookies? I still don't understand why this idea was abandoned. What's weirder is Ian said he applied all these formulas in a spreadsheet to make some prebuilt rookies. Why can't those formulas be used in-game to generate them? Rookie classes of last gen Madden were alright. Even better when using a certain editor for the PC version to apply some custom formulas on them

I guess if repetition is an issue it will at least mean I like the gameplay and other parts of franchise mode enough to play the game significantly, but still, just baffling to me.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Franchise Mode Improvements: Part 2 Q&A

I just typed a huge reply then my stupid computer ate it all.

Basically, I have owned every madden ever, since it was just John Madden Football. Owned it every year since, and bought it faithfully. I have never even CONSIDERED not buying it, so I don't know where you get your info. If you call that fairweather, you need another drink. I think after almost 20 years of buying Madden, I have a right to tell Josh Looman that answering 15 questions out of a couple hundred is bogus, and his efforts were less than spectacular, considering most of the questions had a yes/no answer and could have been handled quickly. I've said it once, I'll say it again, if you're going to ask the community for questions and feedback, you'd better be prepared to deliver results. If not, get back in your damn office and do some real work on this roster update of a game.

I hate to be a nag and it pains me to see everyone complaining and overlooking what they're doing on this game...but with that said...this was a very poor effort. Honestly, and I'm not just saying it to make a point but we knew everything he said in this blog. It didn't cover even a fraction of the REAL questions out there.

But hey, whatever.
