think about what youre saying then post, please!
Two things:

1. The Patriots gameplan not to use the run not because they can't, but because they like to use the short passing game instead. When they do choose to concentrate on the run, they do it well.

2. They gave up more sacks because it was Matt Cassell who held onto the ball too long and not because of their offensive line.

Think before you post.

Hah Colquitt is NOT a top 5 punter.

Sacks allowed is a very misleading way to gauge how good your linemen are blocking. Most players can't control sacks so you have to factor in QB Hits and QB Pressures, believe me Jammal Brown is lucky to still have his 90 after last season.

I do agree that Jahri Evans got shafted though, Carl Nicks as well maybe.

Actually the Pats as a team had a top 10 running game last year I believe. This is with a revolving door of backs. They also have a better line in real life as well

edit: Pats ranked 6th in yards and 7th in average with mediocre backs.

think about what youre saying then post, please!

1. same as the Saints, Reggie only catches 70 balls a yr on avg out of the backfield and Brees only led the NFL in yards...the Saints use the short yardage passing game instead of the run game just like the Pats

2.They gave up fewer sacks than the Pats in 07 as well, you know the year Brady threw 50 tds.

think before you post

You're missing the fundamental point of the post. As stated above, sacks aren't completely on the O-line. A lot of it is on the QB, schemes, and/or other players.

The Patriots went from 21 sacks allowed in '07 to 48 in '08. Do you honestly think that is all the o-line?

neither of us realized the Pats did as well in their RBBC last year after Brady went down

anyway,my point is in 2007 when Brees and Brady were both healthy the Pats still gave up 75% more sacks than the Saints...of course, sacks arent the only way to jude an oline..but when you throw the ball almost every play(as the Pats in 07 and the Saints in 07,08) and only get sacked 13-16 times, it should count for something...should it not?
