Re: NCAA Football 10 Rosters Issue

The Colorado roster makes me so mad that I stopped reading and had to post something again.

Do they even realize the amount of people who are not on websites like this that they are driving crazy?

You could be OS's own Sylvia Browne. Maybe next year you can come on Montel William's show and give us your predictions on all EA's title.

I have lost jobs in my life for FAR less than this kind of gross negligence regarding proofing / checking work. Hell, some of those same things would have probably gotten me promoted at EA under these kind of quality controls!

This is NOT that complicated of a problem to solve - simply reboot "TB-beta" with "TB-final" and fix the root cause - the tainted / "wrong" roster file. Thats the exact reason that you launch something like Team Builder with a "beta" label attached to it...so that in the event something unforeseen or unplanned goes wrong that it can be fixed without people being legitimately upset.
Valid points keep being made, but they will be overlooked. We know how this story plays out.

Coming from a programmer, they probably don't have 2 rosters, they probably have dozens if not hundreds. When developing (this goes for code AND resources, like a roster file, or graphics, etc) every revision becomes a new file, so from what I'm gathering they grabbed an earlier revision for the disc rather than the final revision (from the looks of it it was a VERY early revision).

so it may be roster_0.10, roster_0.15, roster_0.24, etc, etc leading up to the final roster_1.00... they just used the wrong one and the correct roster file is already done, just not on the disc or teambuilder.

well they all need to get their heads out of their rears and come up with a solution and quit putting out trash every year and promising to make next years version better .

I'm pretty sure there's more to it than just "reloading" TB. Adam has said as much, and Russ said the incorrect rosters are "on the disc".

Also, Russ is trying to fix this, but I am positive it's not his fault. Like any big software company, I'm sure EA has an SCM group overseeing the software releases. I work for a large software company, and things can get screwed up BIG TIME with SCM. It's a shame no one caught it after it went through SCM, but in all honesty, it's not too surprising to me whatsoever.

Would we be able to use teambuilder to edit the ratings and names of players on our favorite NCAA team and send it to someone who would keep track and then put it in the game in a roster file? Sure it might be a little biased for everyone's fave team but it might end up being better than the solution the developers for EA (might) come up with. And i mean, we're not really doing anything right now except wait. Anyone else on board with this idea? Cause Syracuse's rosters are the exact same as last year, and they haven't changed anyones positions or added any of our (horrible) freshmen yet.
