I don't think so. And if that did happen, all he!! would break loose.

In other words, don't be surprised when you read about a lawsuit over Team Builder...and that comes out of EA's game as well.

EA's gotten away with the whole nudge-nudge, wink-wink with its NCAA games for a long time now...but those days are coming to an end soon.
Must everything be an anti-EA crusade with you?

If 2k Sports was still in the college hoops game business, they would be in the exact same predicament.

EA started this fight, my friend. I'm just glad I'll finally get to see 'em lose it.

And yes...if 2k sports was still exploiting college basketball players, they, too, would still be in this exact same predicament. To that, we can agree.

Re: NCAA Football Heading Down Generic Path (Pasta Padre)

Wow, this is a bigger deal than I thought. I had a feeling something like this was gonna happen when I played 09 and it took me 2 seconds via the locker to get fully named rosters. It was awesome, but I was thinking 'hmmmm i bet this is cutting it pretty close with the ncaa'

If they kinda just let the rosters be totally generic and dont have them resemble (in ratings) the players on the real team, then whats the point?

As it is right now, I barely have enough patience with this to research the hawkeyes roster and try to name everyone myself (last time i did this was 07 on xbox?). Thats a headache trying to find out who is who, and I would only do the hawkeyes and maybe some of the stars of the b10 or heismann hopefulls.

I can't imagine, not only having to edit everyones names, but then edit all their ratings as well. I didnt really care about totally accurate ratings for players in NCAA games, just putting in their names was good enough. If they have the rosters messed up to where you have to edit the players ratings in order for it to resemble the RL team, I definitely won't buy the game (im talkin 11, i'll probably bite the bullet for ncaa 10 with it's rosters).

I'm not an online sports gamer, so it isn't as big as a deal for me, but it does ruin online. Why would you want to play a game against someone when your schools roster doesnt reflect the real ones.

With offline franchise, you can at least DL whatever rosters you want and use those (if they dont take the locker away).

Id much rather revert to lastgen (prelocker) where your guys didn't have names and there was no easy way to download rosters, but at least the rosters were indicative enough (for me, i'm a fan but I dont keep up with like all of the BCS schools players) of the RL teams

Change every player in the game to random races and numbers and maybe put some variability in the height/weight if you need to.

Kind of an off topic Q about the lawsuit. I would think that being the starting quarterback of the hawkeyes for this season would probably be the biggest indicator of who someone is 'supposed' to be in real life, than the fact that the player in the game is white, 6'4 and whatever he weighs.

I mean like if I asked someone "hey whos that 6'4" white guy?" Theyd be like umm wtf are you talking about what guy? If i said "Who is the QB of the hawkeyes?" Id be much more likely to hear 'Ricky Stanzi' than if I just asked about 6'4" white guys.

I guess the point being is, the team and position is what tells you who a player is. For 99% of college football players, most people can't pick out players from across the nation just from a picture that doesnt have them in uniform or say what school they go to or their number.

Its just so complicated with the NCAA, and it is a legitimate issue. Going to the bookstore when I was still at iowa and seeing them selling racks and racks of girl sized drew tate (hawkeyes QB a couple years ago) jerseys (oh im sorry, #5, no name on the back), people are making a lot of money off these atheletes. Yes they are on scholarship, etc... but does it really balance out?

A lot of times people will say well "they are getting a free ride and an opportunity they wouldnt normally have so they dont deserve money" Well what if you are talking about guys that are intelligent enough, and have the monetary resources to go to school otherwise. I'm sure Drew Tate (lets assume they would be able to afford out of state college) could have gone to Iowa (since we accept literally almost anyone) without a FB scholoarship. So now Tate is paying just as much as every other student, should he be able to see some of that scratch from all the #5 jerseys getting sold?

Im pretty sure ive just been rambling for a while now.
