FYI. Madden 09's commentary was terrible. I've got an iphone soccer game with better commentary.
I think he's agreeing with you about the commentary.....Pasta seemed to LIKE 09's commentary, I believe that was his point!

Re: Madden NFL 10 Impressions (Pasta Padre)

Here's my concern/issue.

I want to run a Madden online franchise comprised solely of dedicated APF players. I do NOT want your average Madden gamer in my franchise, and hearing that players can pop in uninvited will simply make this mode too problematic to play for me.

In reading Pasta's impressions, I gather from the wording that contracts, salary caps, and trade logic are all missing. Now when I initially heard about problems regarding roster management, I was under the impression that commissioners would simply have to generate some house rules about CAP space.

From this review it seems that there are simply no contracts at all. Is this correct, or have I mis-read?

Practically, this will mean that in order to function properly, a league will have to be full of user-controlled teams and have a commish that is fully empowered.

For my money--literally--if this mode is the "big news" regarding Madden 10 and it has all of this stuff missing, that's pretty embarrassing. I'd love to hear that my reading comprehension skills have diminished and I'm just wrong here, but that's a lot of bad news for the new, game-changing feature.

Im pretty sure you can make your franchise invite only and password locked. We def will get a blog on this at some point. My main concern is the salary cap..is there a chance this will be in by launch? the trade logic is easy to work around the the salary cap makes things so much easier and without itll get complicated

It's not really irony. EA took away our choice in football games 5 years ago and hasn't given us a quality football game since. So yes, I am biased when it comes to believing the latest Pasta Padre hype. I bought into the hype last year and ended up trading the game back in a couple of weeks later. It bothers me that, by inviting these guys out for all expense paid trips to EA headquarters and other celebrity laden events, they're essentially able to get away with releasing a sub-standard product. Maybe I'll feel differently whenever we finally get the in-game saves, multiple camera angles, quality on-line leagues, etc., that we've been waiting over 5 years for. But until then, I'm going to continue to call a spade a spade, whether you, country boy, exonerated, and panther beast like reading it or not.

If you are good at going over post history, you'll notice I couldn't stand last years game. It's appears you are trying to lump me into a EA apologist. I only play it because my son loves playing against me, if that is ok with you.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Pasta wasn't at EA headquarters this year. He wasn't a part of CD. I wish you would try to stick with facts before calling someone out.

And of course, you read what you only wanted to read.

Pasta also noted negatives with the E3 build as well.

So you're going ahead and determining Madden '10 a subpar game simply because it doesn't yet have all the features that you want the game to have? We'll overlook the strides the game has made from last year to this year, simply because in-game saves, quality on line leagues(not sure how we determine that one yet), and more camera views aren't in the game.

And a question...are you implying that anyone that attends CD events become nothing more than EA hype machines?
