yeah i have to admit the no commentary was bad.but lets look at the positive,it looks like we have a game worth buying and playing this year!this team will stay together and just improve.look at the remarkable improvement from 09 to now!just think when the foundation is solid what they can build on top of that will be like!

Having said that, when was the last time you saw highlights on TV without commentary? Yeah, me neither. Also, what's with the extreme closeups during the replays? Maybe I've played that "other NFL game" too much, but when I see game highlights I expect the camera angle to be as close to TV broadcast angle as possible.

And even when commentary is included, it sounds a little jacked up. It's too obvious when names or numbers are inserted into canned dialogue. I'm hoping this can be cleaned up.

Again, overall this game is heading in the right direction, but the fine details seem to be lacking here.
my sentiments exactly....i see even though they've improved the game greatly,EA still has us with the "wait till next year" mode....it's getting old.

People have no problem crying about how much they hate the halftime show but they are not saying anything about what they would expect a halftime show to be. I might just quit coming to this forum because it is being infested in babies.
Agreed, we need a suggestion thread for the halftime/end of the game highlight show, remember Ian stated on his twitter than things regarding the highlight show can/maybe added via patch or DLC, so its not to late to have these things in Madden10.

its easy..they said the premise of the game is to be just like what you see on Sunday...well DO IT..in every aspect!!!

if this was the halftime show/report of a real game, the producer would be fired after the first game

BTW..way to whine about the whiners

1. The Extra Point Show is nothing more than a glorified box score window with some fluff.

2. The halftime and postgame shows aren't "Shows", they are a few highlights with no commentary, and the little one-liners are out of place, bland and uninteresting.

3. The franchise mode has some tweaks, but you can't trade future draft picks? I guess they don't ever do that in the NFL. *puzzled*

4. Tom Hammond sounds the same as last year, the commentary during the game sounds bland, robotic, and also ..uninteresting. I can't even believe they brought him back, and if it was because of a contract then someone needs to teach Hammond how to talk human-like...with some enthusiasm...something.

Ugh..i'm so angry right now.

+1

I totally agree with you about presentation which is not that impressive. It should be better next year at least.

Almost positive that the game was supersimmed.

Anyways, yeah it wasn't all that great but it still is a step up from the "list" we got in madden 09.

I was expecting more too but it's nothing really to get that upset about. While all the features are final, there might have been an issue w/ the commentary since these are still builds before the final. If it gets fixed, this would be a lot better.

Just not a solid implemented project.

I am really upset because IAN said he and his team watched NFL2k5 and MLB the Show videos to work on presentation. No way in hell could you watche NFL2k5 highlight show and come out with this in Madden 10.

DAMN!
Pretty much everyone has been suggesting commentary during highlights, adding background music to The Extra Point, and fixing the close camera during replays.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Video: Halftime Report (Chase @ E3)

to the guy who said 2k took years to do their presentation. That is not true, ES{N 2k4 didn't offer anything compared to 2k5. The big thing 2k4 focused on was first person football. Then 2k5 saw a huge leap in presentation from overlay stats, to full on ESPN broadcast in franchise with Trey Wingo and Mel Kiper jr., halftime and end of game highlights with music and commentary and the end of game highlights was followed by player of the game, they added weekly prep all kinds of stuff like right stick jukes, QB evade custom situational music, custom TD celebration, and the greatest innovation of Virtual Identity profile, and one must remember they did all of that ish on a short dev cycle because they released the game in July.

So don't give me that baby step excuse anymore.
