Can I save the rosters from each year of my OD and then draft that class in my Madden OF?

Thanks in advance

That would be a good punishment for someone not being available.

If you sim the whole game, he might get a win for not even showing up.
Assuming the implement the same stuff as Online Dynasty (and they better, at least, do that ) The Comish in your league would be able to put said player (the one who isn't available) in Auto Pilot Mode, meaning that team would be CPU controlled until taken off AP Mode. This will allow the other user to be able to play his game vs the cpu.

Can't really answer that as the groups I play with play for fun and would just sim it and take the results and there wouldn't be any "Punishment".
We are pretty much "friends" and understand sometime stuff happens and games can't be played by the deadline.

Again, it sounds cool, I just don't know how realistic it is to have a bunch of friends who all love Madden, all have the same exact system, and all are willing to play online. It's far from impossible to find, but I guess the more realistic option is to find people online rather than recruit your real life friends.

And I agree that if you lose in franchise mode, that's okay because it's indeed a franchise mode. My point is that it would seem that you might only get through..2 seasons, maybe 3. That doesn't seem all that long to rebuild a team.

Obviously that would depend on what your commish set as the play deadlines. If you advanced every 2 or 3 days, then you could easily finish more seasons than 2 or 3.

People who've not played NCAA online dynasty are at a disadvantage when thinking about these issues. From my experience, everyone gets into the season and wants to advance as quickly as possible. If you only have a 6 or 8 person franchise, then odds are that at least half of those games will be against the CPU every week. People can play those games at their leisure, and can usually play those games the same day as the advance. The only real reason it takes a few days to advance is trying to get the human vs. human games played b/c 2 people have to coordinate their schedules. It's kinda hard to explain, but these things will advance pretty quickly if you have a group of guys that can play in the late evenings, maybe after their kids go to bed or after wives/girlfriends and other daily chores are finished.

Usually around 9-11 would be a prime time for my online dynasties to get our human vs. human games in. Trust me, once you get into the franchise, you will be checking it all the time to see if the other people have played their games so the commish can advance so you can play your next week. With the iPhone app and the website integration, I predict a lot of people's work time will be spent checking their online Madden franchise. It really does become somewhat addictive.

What my leagues do when an owner is not available is use substitutes. So if I am the Packers owner and I can't get to my game cause Im out of town or whatever, I post it on the leagues forum and the game is played with an owner from the AFC who has no interest in the outcome. I don't know if the commish will be able to allow something like this in online franchise tho.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Online Franchise Confirmed

The reason online franchise has the potential to be more successful than online dynasty? THE DRAFT.

In the OD, if you are doing poorly you can't bring in recruits. As a results, a lot of users get frustrated and leave. In the NFL, these teams are rewarded wtiht he top draft picks. I think this will keep the struggling users interested.
