How can you not like this? .Please be 4 on 4 Will be just like playing my old position back in the day at school.Cannot wait to get online with a few Redskin buddies and we play the Eagles Giants and the Cowboys Steelers! Nothing would be more satisfying than to WHIP a Steeler fan

I dont think they mentioned you could control the water boy... ? haha jp but i think they said it's only vs the computer and only with 2 people... sounds like they decided not to go all out on a feature again... (IE: online LEAGUES last year).... but oh well to each his own.. i'll be playing offline (and online? ) Franchise..

Me and a mate used to play co-op a lot in Madden 2000 on the PS1, was great fun. It's not a deal breaker for me but it's definitely one of the better "features" that's been added in recent years. For me at least.

i think the game looks almost perfect, just needs some tweaking in some areas (smoother cuts, faster forming pocket, etc.)

ian did say that he made alot of improvements in 2 weeks, which was when this video was made, so i hope for the best. and people are saying that the gameplay looked good on the spike t.v. showing, i didn't like it at all, especially the way knowshon moreno was running, he looked slow and just weird. we will see august 14th, can't wait!

Yeah it's sounding like 2-player vs. CPU. If it was at least 2 vs. 2, they might call it Online Team Play or OTP like they do for NHL and FIFA instead of just calling it Co-Op.

Looks like this is a way to let you use position-specific cams, kind of like the BAP cam in NHL 09 if you play Ranked EASHL games.

While it's a cool looking thing, I think it would be an obstacle for a lot of Madden gamers, who are used more to the North/South view with the Offense always going up-screen.


There are so many cool possibilities with multiplayer football. With GameDay in the PS1 days, you could pancake opponents if you did a high dive into their upper bodies. Kind of arcadey but it was a lot of fun as you're high-fiving each other after flattening players controlled by your human opponents.

In theory, if they did the multiplayer passing game right, a human-controlled WR could sit in the crease of a zone so the QB and WR would have to make the same reads on coverage. But in practice, at least back in the PS1 days, a human had a hard time keeping the WR steady on routes, even coming to a dead stop, because Madden back then wanted to lead you and assumed you'd continue heading in the direction when the pass was released. That obviously won't work for things like curls or outs, where you may want to throw before the WR comes out of the break.

Improvised or true option routes would be something that might be done better than in the single-player game.

Last year, EA excited people with the announcement of online leagues. Then they disappointed people when it was discovered that the scheduling of season was rigid and didn't give anyone flexibility, not even the ability to create a schedule following the real-life NFL schedule.

So EA has disappointed in implementation details. Not sure this big online feature they're going to announce won't have the same issues, good on paper and then the actual details of implementation disappoint.
