OMT is one of the funniest guys on here, despite all the criticism EA gets.

You expressed frustration because EA's publicity machine is pushing the SS stuff (as opposed to the more subtle gameplay tweaks and/or features). Is that not because you (as a hardcore) don't find it interesting?

My point was the publicity is being aimed at the mainstream NCAA gamers, not the ones like us how spend our days dissecting every little bit of info on message boards.

Or it could be me (as someone who isn't an idiot) finds SS a stupid rehash of last gen features that no one then cared for.....? Me being a hardcore fan has nothing to do with finding the premise and why they're pushing a background feature silly. I would be hard pressed to think a lot of people (hardcore or otherwise) who were really excited about it prior to the game plan video.

If they want to push something, push Teambuilder to mainstream fans or maybe a quality game for change, but don't try and sell them a can of snake oil.

I will most likely purchase this game within the 1st week of coming out, but nothing has impressed me so-far. I have been doing all the things far as setting up plays for years, keying on plays defensively, for years. This is only good for people that have no idea how to play football. Kinda shows how behind the real thing these games still are.

It depends how you look at it. I've been doing setting up plays and keying things for a while too but now they're making my job easier and maybe it will be more effective. but I do agree with you, EA is trying to get non football gamers interested in their games by making it fun and easy for them to play (which is what they should be doing in order to increase profit).

I like them showing the linked plays and the percentages involved. At least we'll know exactly how the game is calculating this stuff instead of guessing at how it will work.

Yeah, we've all been setting up plays... however, now it finally has an actual effect on the defense (against CPU at least).
