There was one in the 4th run blocking video actually at the 0:04 second mark. He just peeled off and picked up Brady James, which is what he should do.

You're not sure if it's in this year.

There's no control of gap right/left to take away edge runs, or razors/pinches/all in to take away the gaps, or a fan to try to control the QB roll outs. Will Madden ever give us the ability to control the DLine assignments instead of binding it to a specific play, thus greatly reducing the strategy of defensive play?
I see you say this many times in threads on this forum but I am confused...are you not aware of the fact that you CAN call for D-Line slants left and right or fans in or out? Yes, there is no stunts for the D-Line, but that is one of 5 examples that you use to constantly harp on the lack of control in Madden.

Don't get me wrong, Madden 09 was far, far from perfect, but I can't see the strength of the argument when the facts are misrepresented like that. There are plenty of reasons to knock Madden but lack of D-Line options when it is really a lack of stunt calls and not a total lack of d-line options seems a little weak...

In the videos, I see plenty of minor adjustments that are adding up to a hopefully major change in gameplay overall. Then again, I find myself in the minority who think the running animations are fine as well...

loving the new blocking animation especially the zoomed out outside run play video. run blocking was a disgrace in madden 09.

but i do agree that madden need to come with a better way to handle D-Line assignments cause in real life D-line assignments is separate from actual play being called

cover 2 plays with gap left D-Line, gap right D-Line

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Blocking Improvements Part 2 - The Run Game

Most double-team blocks aren't true double teams. They are usually chip blocks as an OL gets to his primary target. A perfect example is a guard chipping on a NT as he runs to take on an ILB.

People need to remember that a base offense against a base defense has 7 on 7 blocking. If you truly double team someone, that leaves a free defender in the box to make a play. That might be the weakside DE hoping he isn't quick enough to make a play to the strong side but I just hope people realize that true double team blocking is rare in real life.

First, I haven't harped on the lack of control in Madden with regards to game play, and to the best of my knowledge, the only DLine calls prior to the play are the only play call request I have made that affects the defensive strategy in the game.

Secondly, if you have never used DLine stunts during a game, and don't understand how they can be used to control the run by closing gaps, then you really don't have a let to stand on from an argument standpoint. The fact that you didn't even know they existed implies you are arguing blindly.

Thirdly, next time I suggest reading the whole thread before replying. Someone else already pointed out that Madden actually does have DLine controls, however they are at the line of scrimmage (something no one had pointed out to date) and not at the play call screen like in APF2K8. I thanked them for it and said I needed to go back and try them out. LBRulzes then pointed out that even though they are there, they don't work properly.

Hope that's not too weak for you.
