Re: Fight Night Round 4 Demo Impressions

I finally got the demo to work and the game is an improvement from FN3 but not enough imo.

- I hope this is just in the demo but the presentation feels rushed. The ring walk is too short. The introductions only state the fighter's name. The announcement of the winner in a decision is too short.

- The camera is horrible and disorienting. I pray they have multiple camera angles.

- I like the new TPC alot. It feels more realistic imo.

- I'm glad sliders are here because based on the demo its hard to have a realistic fight.

The bolded statement just tells me you barely played the demo (probably cuz UFC is so awesome). IMO this game is a million times better than round 3. After a heated exchange just pause the game and watch the replay and look at the dynamic action thats taking place. Tons of glancing blows, misses, punches grazing over forheads, arms wrapping around body parts, dynamic dirty boxing, with absolutely zero clipping!. Man the physics system and top notch collision detection, with the all analog control scheme just guarantees that its a perfect game to compliment UFC.

Nah I had 6 fights. I like all the glancing blows and the new engine but that doesnt mean **** to me if the AI is stays as is. If sliders help it, that would be great but the game feels very slugfesty. Plus the presentation was a big dissapointment to me. I'm stil buying the game but the demo is a slight dissapointment.

If you're worried about it being a slugfest, just know that fatigue plays a part in that. If you are able to get your opponent's fatigue down, they won't throw as many punches, probably do to the fact that low fatigue punches are weak. Even the CPU AI isn't gonna waste it's time throwing weak punches.

Now, the producers/developers stated that the fatigue levels will be adjusted when the final product is released. Even if its not to your liking, there will be sliders.

Also, keep in mind that the difficulty was on Easy, so if the CPU was fighting like an idiot, that's by design, and even on FNR3, I found the aggressive fighters to be the easiest.

Don't worry about that. There will be camera angles aplenty. This one doesn't really bother me, although I'd prefer "Swing".

the presentation is dissappointing, but to try to judge the games A.I. off of the demo when the difficulty is on easy and not even adjustable is premature.

If anything the games A.I. sounds the most promising. With multifaceted fighting styles guaranteed to mimic a variety of real life styles already promised.

Yea, as long as they bring the swing camera back, I'm good.
