No wonder the Giants in Madden games seem to have a mysterious advantage against all the other NFC East teams...

Re: IGN.....Hands on

While this IGN preview wasn't exactly glowing imo...but it did seem pretty balanced. Mentioned the good, and somethings that need work. Sounds about right, at this time in mid-May.

Nothing I read in this preview has me particularly concerned.

Re: IGN.....Hands on

I want to thank you Ian for assuaging my fears so quickly!

I understand that the game is still a work in progress...I guess I just had unrealistic expectations as to how far the game would be right now (just under 3 months from release)...I thought this would be fixed by now...again, I'm not "in the know" as far as how developing a game works...so my ignorance is partly responsible for my worry...I do hope that you guys can deliver what the article says...it seems like a good start.

Now...back to work! We gotta have that pocket perfect come Aug 14.

Jk...take all the time you need...as long as its perfect....on Aug 14...2009.

Regardless, his concerns are all valid, but again all things are still very much in progress. The entirety of the pocket stuff is still being worked on and tuned...the pocket and gang tackles are our big remaining items...making sure you can't scramble out, making sure you actually get pressure, etc. Just so everyone knows, Nate was also playing on Pro mode - a mode where we are very purposely making it easier to stay in the pocket. It's quite a culture shock to have defenders right in your face after 20 years of not worrying about it.

We all know the fumble pileup thing is going to be totally subjective within the community, and though it is extremely rare (played a full 10 min qtr game yesterday, had 3 fumbles, and didn't see it), you still have the option to turn it off.

Anyway, I am hoping that you can take more away from the article - the gameplay tuning items are very valid but they are also in progress.

Oh well, worry away.
I'm loving that last line, lol. For the record, I dont have anything but complete confidence in the team this year.

Good to here Ian. Alot of the stuff Nate said seemed to me taht a few tweaks here and there and it can be fixed. I saw it as a glowing preview myself, the subtitle alone got me hyped lol. I like how Nate mentioned the new strategy towards developement you guys deserve that. There is more than enough time for things to be fixed. AND the best part is we havent even gotten the biggest info yet. If this were just the game itself id be pleased...somewhat lol

Do your thing man!
