Actually if they would have tested the game this wouldn't have happened.

What? A bad patch? OK.

There were issues that if you actually played the game you would have seen, so I guess the testers must be blind or had their monitors turned off. I won't be buying next years game.
I thought you were done with this game?

The Show played well out of the box. I just deleted the patch and kept going with my franchises. Great game.

I really think that some of you are blowing it a little out of proportion.

I mean, this game/series has turned into a huge success. It has gotten great and positive reviews from review sites and gamers alike, so when things get big, you gotta take the good with the bad.

You can't tout new features and modes, and then when it doesn't work AS ADVERTISED, just say "you should be happy with what you got" or "then just quit playing it if you don't like it."

You can't talk about how great some things are in the game and than just ignore the faults or bugs. Accept the praise with the complaints.

Sure, there are some people out of line acting like the game should be perfect, or that certain small issues are "game killers," but those kinda negative people are around in every walk of life.

I love this game. When I point out an issue I have with something, it is not to say I hate the game, or the game sucks, or anything of that sort. I am just pointing it out to see what others may have seen or experienced.

So, all in all, what does complaining about the negative and outta line posters on here accomplish? Nothing.

Don't feed the trolls and lets have constructive criticism and act like adults. Is it really that hard?

Re: MLB 09: The Show Patch Released 4/27/09 - Impressions and Discussion Here

To be honest, this game touted so much and had so much potential that it was inevitable that it would not live up to the expectations and fail. Yes, it is very sad that the patch fixed nothing and potentilally made things worse, but it does happen with all games. To say that I'm not dissapointed would be a complete lie. However, to claim that the failures were done on purpose is just too much. There is far more to making a videogame than ANY of us could comprehend. Fixes aren't as easy as we'd like them to be. Testing and QA isn't as straightforward and easy as we all think it is. I would love for them to put out another patch that fixes it all, but at this point, I don't think it will happen. I've been relegated to hoping that something does come out to help us, but I'm not expecting it.

The saddest thing is that next year, I'm not going to pre-order the game. I'm going to have to wait a month or two after it comes out to see what the general reaction is before buying it. THAT, is the saddest thing of all.

Completely disagree. We have a bugs/glitches thread, etc.. People should be objectively posting in that thread and most do. Who has ignored faults in the game? You're missing the entire point and making it sound like the criticism has all been just dandy. It hasn't. If some of us didn't step up this forum would have turned into a war zone, more than it has, so please spare me on how we can all just act like adults. That's what we've been trying to accomplish with little help.

And SCEA has taken the good with the bad, but the attacks on them and the verbal abuse, I wouldn't take it. There have been a ton of disrespect from people here who would never talk to someone face to face like they do when sitting at the comfort of their keyboard.

EDIT: The devs, bottom line, are our guests. They are to receive zero abuse, just my opinion.

This is a patch impression thread. And in case you didn't realize it, the patch actually broke more than it fixed. So, for people to complain about things that were broken that were ADVERTISED is their right to do so. And the fact the patch was fixing things (or suppose to fix things) that should not have been broke in the first place really says a lot.

EA gets tons of flak for Madden, and rightfully so. But when SCEA FAILS to deliver on certain modes, just as EA does, they deserve it to.

Seems to me there are a lot of people not liking it when other people bash "lil ole SCEA." Boo hoo.

Also, this is a message board, people act different behind a keyboard as opposed to real life, if you are jsut realizing that now, we got bigger issues.

So because people can hide behind the anonymity of the internet that makes it acceptable to be abusive?

Its just amazing how some people are. Rondo seriously bro you know exactly what Jim meant. What kills me is how much people have complained but yet instead of going to play other games, they keep coming back and complaining more. What is so seriously wrong, tell me one perfect sports game please, i am waiting and please dont go mvp 2005. Good game and it got me back to playing baseball, but it had its flaws as well. All Jim was saying is you can make your point and not give attitude or be disrespectful and do it in the correct thread. I mean is it that hard ?
