Re: Madden NFL 10 Video: Pro-TAK Animation System

Thanks all for the great feedback. To answer a couple of concerns...

#53 on the Bears just cruising around and jogging is still a valid issue we have to solve. Getting all these guys to tackle the dude was hard enough...figuring out what to do with guys that can't join in is also difficult. It's on our plate...definitely something we'll address.

For those concerned with frequency of these occurring...in one word...don't. We aren't going to artificially keep guys upright and 'hugging' just so more people can join in. It takes a big back dragging guys forward in the midst of a ton of people for these to happen for real. Again like I said in the other thread, nearly all of these videos are captured with debug options to force them on for demo purposes.

But keep the feedback coming...glad you all are digging it! It feels good to put so much hard work into something and really start seeing it come to fruition.

P.S. Mike Young and crew are pretty amazing right? I am still pretty blown away with the graphical upgrade from 09.

I think it looked great. Around the 2:10 mark, Brandon Jacobs inexplicably gets stood up by Carlos Rodgers while another DB does a 180 degree turn to tack on to the animation. That was an eyesore. Other than that great jjob.

Anyway, game looks good.
I'm going to go fix that right now. Do any players even have their first initial anymore? Seems like all of them have gone to last name...

WOW! That is all I have to say! Great job guys!

I did notice 1 thing though, it looks like the runner almost stops or slows down right before impact. Like he is afraid to get hit? I still think that vid was amazing none the less.

Maybe it's because I haven't see the game in person but I'm personally not "blown away" by the graphical upgrade.

I'm more so impressed. The game imo looks the same as 09 but with added details (self shadowing, depth of field, etc.). But yeah for me to be "blown away" it would have to be as big of a jump that 09 was from 08.

But anyways, keep up the good work. I fully agree that this will be the biggest leap in terms of gameplay in madden history since things that have been addressed have been problems in madden for a long time.

Maybe blown away is the wrong choice of words...but the big thing for me is to have all this ultra realistic lighting, self shadowing, depth of field, new parts like towels and handwarmers, etc....AND they add a bunch more characters with refs and chain gang. In Madden land, that's unheard of.

Exactly. That's why I'm impressed.

Either way though I might just end up being blown away when I finally get to play it ... especially if the presentation is top notch.

Can't wait for the news on that
