I noticed that even though there are 4 guys to the left of the runner, the pile falls backwards and a little to the left.

Couple of questions:
  1. Will players actually run up and attempt to pull a player backwards like #96 up top does? Wouldn't they try to dive forward and bring the player down most of the time?
  2. Will the direction of the players as they hit the pile affect the direction it moves? Or will the direction be solely based on the runner? (i.e. is there an equilibrium for the pile whose balance can be affected / altered)
  3. Players attach dynamically to the pile, thus the gang tackle aspect (multiple bodies engaged in a tackle), but this doesn't necessarily mean the tackles are unique (meaning how the player falls down). Does the player fall down dynamically too? Or are the fall down portion of the tackles still going to be canned animations that eventually get triggered?
number 2 is definitely in... its been mentioned in like every protak article....

ratings, weight, numbers determine the movement and steerability of piles

I've been on hiatus for a while, but have been watching and following from afar and am not sure if this question has been asked/answered already.

Will there be stale-mates in M10 using PRO-TAK's 9 player gang tackles? There should be times where a runners forward progress is stopped, the play is blown dead while the runner is standing and linemen are pushing the pile.

See video example:

This should definitely be implemented using this new animation system.

Yeah, Ian said somewhere that they would whistle the plays dead at times.

Yes and no, they have said it will move forward and backwards and that a player can hit stick the pile to move it. I'm not sure if they means the pile can move from side to side.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: A Deeper Look into PRO-TAK

Based on the latest footage from the pass line blocking blog, I'm wondering if ProTak will allow a player to be engaged in a block AND attempt at tackle at the same time. Or if they will have to break away from the block and then make the tackle.

Unfortunately, this is EA and this is Madden so I would go ahead and assume the latter until we actually play a game and see it happen for ourselves.
