Could be a new feature? well....a bring-back feature. unless they talking about PS2.
I don't think so, which is why I was confused by his question and Phil's answer as well. I know you can view your team income from ticket sales, merchandise, etc. but there is no way to change how much you charge and what not. Either Phil was talking about the PS2 version when he responded, or it was a slip and he accidentally revealed new information for Madden 10 that they had not planned to release yet. Here's to hoping it's the latter.

Surely there are better ways to spen ones life than putting imaginary prices on imaginary food that no one actually consumes

It sems that some kind of 'restaurant manager' pc game would be more fun for imaginary food sellers

I woul drather see something like 'cheerleader shower cam' or something like that
I don't think it's the actual adjustment of food prices that has people craving this feature, it's what the feature represents towards the entire franchise mode. When people think of adjusting ticket prices they think back to Owner Mode of the PS2/Xbox days and food prices is just one of the many things that Owner Mode had that Franchise Mode on current gen does not. So when people talk food prices, it's more about everything that's been missing from the franchise mode for years, whether it be the Tony Bruno show, player roles, adjustable food and ticket prices, etc. That's my take on it anyways.

...Another feature that should be brought back is the ability to build a new stadium WITHOUT moving the team in the offseason! What some people are trying to get across here is that they feel like there is no longer any control when it comes to running a franchise in the game. Adjusting ticket/food/drink prices are all part of running a franchise.

If it's in the game, then it (should be) in the game

I don't think you can edit a stadium due to legal reasons.

Same reason you can't relocate and keep uniforms and logos and copyrights.

I think that both game play and presentation is the focus for Madden 10.

Disagree completely because your basing your arguement on a faulty premise.

NFL teams don't set food prices. The companies that lease out their spaces set the prices, the teams just get a cut. Teams don't set the prices for jersey's, the owner of the retailer does, and again, the team gets a cut.

(Obviously the team owner can indirectly influence the price, but he isn't going in and saying 5.50 for a beer, 7.00 for a hotdog ect...).

Likewise, the person responsibile for ticket prices is not also calling the plays on Sunday (and, certainly, not playing QB/RB/LB/FS ect ect).

Ok, while you are right in everything you said... I actually enjoyed the financial aspects of owner mode. It was another little thing to play with, although I didn't think it was really that well executed.

Look at MVP Baseball's owner mode. Now that was an immersing experience for those that enjoy that kind of thing. That game actually had a semistructured economic system in place, and it was fun as hell to try to succeed within that system AND to play the games. I see nothing wrong with bringing this kind of experience to madden. Obviously the on field action is more important, but still, it would be a fun addition.
