Plus, it's normal reaction to install a patch to a game when it comes out...normaly no reason not too (I guess this would fall somewhere in the neighborhood of your "reflex" idea), especially when some where hoping for the fixes to allow them to go forward in RTTS. The communication on whether or not it would be safe was unclear as well (not placing blame, it's likely SCEA didn't know for sure themselves. Just pointing out that it was impossible to know the patch would goof some peoples games).

It's just a very, very rare thing indeed for a fix to be an actual detriment to files already in progress. To not fix prior files is one thing (actually quite common), but it is unfortunate that it screwed with prior saves. Hopefully things will go smoother in the future all around.
Yep, plus if you want to play online, download new SCEA rosters, you have no choice but to install the patch.

I simmed the game because I couldn't play the same game twice. my Pitching was too spot on. So I simmed to get the closest result I could statistically.

The next game, I played one inning and did an in game save, to see if the game would save properly. When I clicked save and exit, the screen went black and I lost my inning. I tried this twice more, same result.

I came to the conclusion that there was no way around this, so I deleted the piece of s*** patch 1.06. I lost all my music cues in the process, and since I did every gave every single mlb player music, I lost a lot of time.

All I can do is roll up my sleeves, and redo all the cues and reassign the music once again.

I hate the fact my reliever innings are inaccurate while viewing stats in the bull pen, but I have no choice but to play without the broken patch. There is no way I am gonna restart my entire franchise. I just can't do that.

I thought I was the exception to the patch destroying pre-patch franchises. I was wrong. I waited a very long time to begin my franchise, and I just can't restart. If I still experience problems with my patch free franchise, I am afraid I am going to give up on this game. It saddens me, but I am sick and tired of starting and restarting and so on.

Good luck to everyone else.
This is a terrific game, but that crummy patch really disappointed me. SCEA made a great game, but damn that stupid patch.
That's rough you have to redo all the music stuff.
I held off on that due to the uncertainty of things.

I kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid

Let's not get into a huge argument here on how and what SCEA did, at this point we know they have a damn fine game, and a less than stellar patch.

They are in the business of making money, as is EA and Take Two/2k, perhaps they should all be reviewed the same way. This isnt the PR they wanted, and hopefully everything pans out. Its unfotunate but not unprecedented.

There have been 2 games now where I didn't get replays and got weird replays in the vault.

It seemed to happen (for me at least) when I pressed X when they were showing a highlight for a player in-game (like when someone hit a HR earlier and then came up to bat later) and/or when I pressed X at the end of the game to skip past things. So, try not pressing X in those cases.
It may not work for you, but so far that has kept my replays working.

Perspective, gentleman.
Why would I not update? Why would I assume my game would be broken by a patch? Wouldn't I assume that a patch would make it better?

Outside of all the other reasons stated for updating by others, how about that I don't want to get asked to update everytime I play the game? What about if I don't come to the OS site and know there are issues with the patch, which I didn't know about even though I do come here often.

Given the excellent track record of the devs, I would expect good things from the patch.

Your question really doesn't make any sense and if you only had 3 posts, people would probably call you a troll.

That is quite the classic response. Almost as classic as "Well, if you don't like it go play 2k..." I digress..

There was no hurry to patch for me anyway. I had no major problems with the game prepatch but...it was available, so why not patch? (I hate answering a question with a question but it seems appropriate right now).

SCEA sent out a list of fixes and I was kind of excited for a couple of them (especially the no RTTS september crash) so there didn't seem to be a point to not getting the patch. In retrospective, that was a mistake.

When has a patch ever made things worse? On top of that, SCEA has generally done a great job with The Show series, so of all developers, they are the last ones whose patches I would be leery of. Why wouldn't people download it when the game prompts you to?

And, as other people have mentioned, there were many more fixes than just the schedule. I guess that proves you don't work for them.

Yes, shame on you.

That's a valid point... Pared, I'm still trying to figure out what exactly you were trying to accomplish with your original question.
