But doesn't SCEA have a QA department that really should have caught the issues that people are having?? Obviously they didn't INTEND to release a broken patch; no one is accusing them of that - but, the patch obviously went through little to no testing prior to its release.

Of course they didn't intend for this to happen. But it happend for whatever reason. Just like a plate of food at a restaurant that has a hair in it. Had the chef known it was in there, he wouldn't have sent it out.

Why would you ask the person who ordered it why they were eating it?

Who bears the responsibility regardless if it was an accident or not? Certainly not the customer. I just don't understand your reasoning.

I obviously can't answer your question.

But the comments on the forums would lead you to believe some don't agree with the part in bold.

It's no different than when they released the game with a bug in the first place. It is software, and all the time and "QA" in the world can't cover all your bases.

No pun intended, of course.

This sentence is the key. As a chef I can relate LOL.
If I send out a steak and it gets eaten half and then a hair is found, the consumer 99% of the time sends it back AFTER they found the discrepency. They're not going to wait for everyone else to eat first before they cut into theirs. They are assured that I as the Chef have checked everything before I put the plate in the window for service.

Just a side note. I have never had a steak sent back because of a hair. LOL. I have had a steak sent back because it was too rare though.

Do extensive testing, and make the damn game right the first time.

I know they make mistakes, but it seems all these next gen games rely on these patches as a crutch. It's f-ing irritating.

Geez do you work for SCEA or something ..

Are you telling us that they never knew this would happen ...Of course they knew it was going to happen . Did they intend for it to happen ? Well you decide ....

This doesn't bother me because I'm an adult and have other things to worry about but there are a lot of people that have a lot of time invested .

What they should done is communicated this better to the public . They communicated the changes but never said anything about franchises and RTTS crashing ..

Don't be so gullible, McFly....

Let me ask a question .... If they told you your game would crash would you have downloaded the patch ? Depends on where you were at the time ..

No, but what was the hurry to update? It's a simple question.

I'm actually surprised it took this long for someone to accuse me of working for Sony, facetiously or not. Quite the cliché, but the predictability of the responses on OS is always welcome.
