I like this idea. Perhaps you move the two joysticks (arms/hands) around and if you get your "hands" on the ball, the controller starts to vibrate. If your opponent gets control, the controller stops vibrating and then you have to start moving the joysticks around again "searching" for the ball. The more control you have, the more the controller rumbles and vise versa.

yeah, I love button mashing, I loved in 2k5 tackling system, gave me a since of accomplishment, I also love it when running; nothing like some end user influence based on ratings. Thanks EA, for QB evade and fumbleruski.

Ian I am confused as to why you would even introduce this design choice when you have stressed to us in the past that you're all about cleaning up the interface. You made a thread all about how much cleaner the game looked with the Weapon Icons defaulted to off. So why would you choose to introduce a new feature where there's a meter? You're getting rid of Weapon Icons (as a default...you can turn them on if you want) yet now you're introducing a new meter? I don't get it from a design perspective. In other words...do what you did with Weapon Icons. Default it off.

Include rumble feedback like I mentioned (more feedback as you're losing the battle for the ball) and think about changing it from random changing buttons to a consistent alternating L + R mechanic.

yeah that makes sense, give a tangible number rating for the intangibles

9 times out of 10, the only time you see a fight for the ball is in crowds ... not open space.
Hopefully, this is something that is rectified by game release.
This is a concern for me...

It seems like whenever EA comes up with a new feature, they overuse it. Some crazy catch animation, or camera flashes come to mind. Also, the hit stick and how any player could land a big hit basically anytime. It loses all appeal because it's happens all the time.

I'm remember hearing something about how the devs would want to make sure the new feature gets noticed so the reviewers write about it, even after playing only a game or two.

They also mentioned how the refs get knocked over all the time. I'm glad they don't interfere with the players, but they should have better avoidance AI.

Ditch the fumble meter, and limit the rare plays to keep the suspense high when they do happen... everything else sounds great!

I agree but I think Ian will keep a realistic amount of fumbles per game. If we start seeing 3 or 4 fumbles every game I'm going to get annoyed.

The amount of interceptions is something that still has me worried. Every season my team has a ridiculously high amount of interceptions. Interceptions should be rare maybe 1 or 2 a game if any. Hopefully we see more swat animations and less picks.
