Having control (to me) is pressing 'B' to spin while running the ball.
Smashing buttons super-fast seems more like Mario Party mini-games.

''When you're running the ball, you can see the holes and you have time to react and hit those holes. When you're going to turn upfield, you actually need to plant your foot and turn upfield. You can't just turn on a dime. There's no more Mario running.'' By Phil Frazier

If this is in Madden 10 Im buying Phil and Ian A giant Turkey on August 15th

I know that I still see 180 degree turns on every video we have seen thus far. So if that's fixed, it hasn't made it into their current builds, or the videos we have seen at least.

What I would really like to know is..."Is there really any other factors in determining the outcome other than just the button mash sequence." Things such as who was on it first, how many from each team are on the pile, player ratings, etc. Or is it just straight up, whoever taps the fastest gets possesion?

If this Fumble button mashing thing is not optional then It is going to be a very big hurdle for me to have to overcome.

When I play a football game I want to relax and have fun. Not Kill my thumb trying to get a Fumble.

Button mashing isn't that big a deal to me. Fumbles don't happen every play let alone every game so I think people are just over thinking this. It's mashing a button for a few seconds every couple games if that. I just don't see the big deal. Sounds good to me.
