I will then restart anyway.

At least I am playing games that "matter" (for win/losses, playing against other guys other than the aces on a staff, seeing if my batting avg., ERA is working out with my level and sliders, etc.).

If you haven't settled on some of the aforementioned, it is highly recommended to play a test franchise. Exhibition games are easier in my opinion even though you often times will face the ace. The CPU seems to bring more of its A game in franchise/season mode in my opinion.

But, I feel your pain, brotha, I really can't wait to start my real franchise. I still need to wait for Knight's rosters with stock SCEA players attributes (no fix for lineups) (and hopefully pitches) or the one Knight does where he rates players himself.
I appreciate the suggestions, but I actually been down this road, playing numerous test franchises. I think that's why I'm getting so antsy, I feel as though I've exhausted all avenues

Re: MLB 09 The Show Patch Announcement From the MLB Development Team

for those waiting to start a franchise due to the lineup or historical stats glitch, I can upload my rosters into the roster vault that solves that issue. All the FA moves won't have been made(Pudge not on Astros) and Sheff is still a Tiger, but you can do these moves manually before starting your season.

Any gameplay fixes, shouldn't cause you to have to re-start a franchise.

Can someone explain to me the historical stat glitch I hear about?

a few of the roster updates caused an issue with historical stats to where players' historical stats were swapped. A-Rod and someone else's stats were swapped making A-Rod have less than 500(not sure the exact number) and Pujols' RBI stats were flawed, and I'm sure there were more.

The rosters I have don't have this issue nor the lineup glitch, so if anyone is interested, let me know and I'll throw them on the roster vault.
