When it comes down too it, we're just glorified QA, and we all know that. We're happy for the experience, it's an outstanding gesture to the community who live and breath football gaming, but really, we're a tiny drop in the bucket overall. I think this was Dave's basic point when he objected to the "Elite 8" label.

I'm just glad for the legacy. I can look back on this and say "I had a hand, however small, in helping to bring Madden back to greatness". That really means a lot to me. It seems dumb... I'm a 30 year old father and I'm getting this caught up in a video game... but I'm excited. Really and truly excited. And the great thing about it is, I know now that my faith over the past year in Ian has been well placed.

People have called me a kiss up (ironically enough, Dave more than anyone else!), but trust me when I tell you: It's been harder to go against the grain and stick with it (especially after SliderGate) than it would have been to throw up my hands and say "Same ol' EA" along with everyone else.

A picture is worth a thousand words..... right.

Nice post.

Coach Lombardi is scary even watching him 40 years later, on film.

Well, I've read the first (and I say first) 850 posts and all I can say is.."Wow, I can't wait till August 14th!"

Great job Dave, Kane, LBZrule, Bezo, AJ, and many more for your continued effort in giving us the latest and greatest news to date about Madden 10.

It took me hours to read, but I am glad I did. Thanks again guys!

No one has to thank me for anything.
I want what you want - a fun Madden.
And I got a free trip to Orlando and a chance to play Madden early.
If anyone should give out the thanks, it's me.

If I can do anything - and I mean anything - to make Madden fun again, I will.

For me, the last great Madden was Madden 04 ... and that was because it was my first year playing online. Since then, Madden has been on a steady, sad decline.

I know people hate hearing this - but IMO, the loss of a competitor was a big factor. You need developers competing against each other. That's why EA has made tremendous leaps with NHL and NBA. They had great competition.

Finally, Madden has its competition - oddly enough, it's a message board. Ian, Phil and their group want to prove OS wrong ... and prove they can put out a great product.

I think they're on their way. Will there still be naysayers? Absolutely. But opinions are like backsides (OS rules restrict the word I'd like to use there), everyone has one.

I'm getting this kind of crap at another gaming site I frequent.

That's a load of something that rhymes with fit.
I've been banned twice from OS.

I defy anyone to find any post I've ever written that kissed anyone at EA's ***.

Hell, one of the guys at the event pulled out a copy of NFL2k5 and said "If your game doesn't measure up, I'm putting this in the 360."

I'm so sick of this crap about how all eight guys there were a collection of EA Sports shills.

You should know me better than that by now Houtz ... and I'm cocking my fist to punch you through the computer screen for that accusation.

They're just haters man. It's pathetic. This site was Madden bash central for awhile.
