List #2

1. Did the wr have a chance at the ball even when you strafe with the corner.
2. How many guys ran back and made a wedge on kick returns.
3. Did the db's guard slants, drags, ins, curls, and crossing routes in man.
4.Could you still rocket catch playmaker outs with the outside wr's and playmaker slants to the outside.
5. did DB's guard the right shoulder on post inside post routes.
6. Do DB's still jump high when you strafe.
7. Do wr's block down the field or make some big blocking hits like Hines Ward.
8. Can you make a move with a Dlinemen and get a sack.
9.There is a running play in GL I can't remember the name but it looks like a dive, do the linemen still pass block in that play.
10. There is a wr reverse play in san fran pb in the singleback bunch formation but the qb never hands the ball off it's a broken play everytime. Is this fixed?
11. In some formations if you change the direction of the run play then shift you're fb it creates a broken play because the fb bumps the qb off of his path. Is this fixed?
12. How does the defense react to a wr or TE being motioned into running lanes on a running play.
13. Say my outside wr is running a double move route (out and up) and I playmaker it to be shorter. Will the db in a blue zone keep dropping back? When this is done my wr always stops halfway and the db continues to drop back leaving me wide open.
14. Can you still make crazy motions, I figured this out in practice mode. You have a play with the wr running a auto motion change the route of the players that are on the line. Now I can make crazy motion plays like my rb could be lined up inside of my wr like they are the same person. Depending on the play i could get some really wild motions.

Are the animations as better than 2k5s? That's hard to answer, and I'm not in the majority on this.

I say no, on a pure animation-for-animation basis, no, Maddens are not as good. Smoother? Better transitions? yes, but putting this catch against that catch, assuming similar player models, 2k5 still looks more realistic to me. Now when I told everyone this the morning after community day, I got confused looks from everyone else, so clearly I'm pretty much alone here.

However, when you add layered blending, steering (see the sidelines blog), branching, etc.., Madden's system really shines.

I've been thinking about this for a while. As much as we here are loathe to admit it, the game does need great reviews from the Ign's, GameInformer's, and the like.

When these sites get their first hands on experience with the game, the team members probably need to thoroughly guide them though the extensive changes that have been made, so that when they finally get around to reviewing the game, they will have a clear understanding of "what" and "why" concerning all the changes.

It would be unfortunate if some dilettante trashed the game because he didn't realize that he couldn't play the game like its was Madden 2004.

In short, teach these sites how to play the game, so that they won't be incompetent, and review the game from a state of ignorance.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Sounds good. Thanks for the response. I sure hope that it was just YOUR opinion. Madden's animations have been way too robotic for quite some time. I guess I'll have to wait and see videos. Or can anyone of the other guys chime in on this?

Im with g2thcore on this one. I really hope they make the player movement less robotic.

This thread has been very entertaining to follow....

Just to get some context on your opinion, did you feel this way about Madden 09's animations? Because madden 2010 has to have catastrophically better physics, movements, animatons etc for me and the majority of oser's to mirror the sentiments you have about madden 2010 (using words like smooth and good transitions). So is it fair to say Madden 2010's animations are a gigantic step up in comparison to 09, or are they just a minor improvement and you felt essentially the same way about 09 as you do 2010?
