P.S. Those videos will be of Madden 98. I AIN'T SCARED OF NO NDA!!!

This is one of the things I was harping on. When I was there, yes, they did, but in the wrong direction. They actually kicked out, which, as you would expect, created a nice little lane for the DE to get the QB fairly easily. I fully expect this to be addressed.

This is a better question for Dave, who played with the Eagles quite a bit. I'm a bit shocked looking back on it now and realizing I don't think I touched a mobile QB. Once again, we weren't as well organized as we should have been.

I really think this is something that Adaptive AI would help address, but we'll see.

*double checks Ians talk guidlines* Resounding Yes!

FB did block better. The big thing I noticed was staying on route rather than breaking off in the backfield and blocking somebody coming off the end or something. Honestly I didn't pay as much attention to the actual blocking as I should have, but the pathfinding/target selection is definitely better.

Unfortunately, not a subject I can touch on yet in specifics, but in general, yes, you really do feel the difference between the average and the great across all areas o fthe game.

In most instances. There are transitional animations still to be made, I don't know if this is on the agenda.

Specifics about OL/DL play are still off limits.

See above.

It seemed just about right against the 3-4, the 4-3 had problems getting pressure with their front four alone. This is something they're quite aware of.

More stuff we can't discuss. I can say that none of us were able to run the QB Sneak at all. It actually crashed the build.

Didn't catch it myself, I'm not sure.
Can you answer this?

Does the defense attack the way they should or do they still run right to a blocker? In real life a defender like a DE is trying to get around the LT any way he can not run right in to him and be blocked. The defense should dictate how the blockers will react not the other way around don't you think?

I just really want to know how does it generally animate.

IMO, it seperates good next generation games (Madden, Live, MLB2K9, NHL2K9) from OUTSTANDING next generation games (APF2K8, The Show, Madden, FIFA).

Videos will answer alot of these questions.....I think it will be extremely unlikely that they would have caught up with APF on the sheer quantity and quality of animations. But I think the fluidness and variety of Madden's animations will play a big part in how the general public perceives Madden.

What I want to know is are double stunts more affective? they never seem to be in madden because the Oline would block it everytime.
Let me give you a quick story. Bezo already posted it, but since it involved me directly I'll tell it again. I already went in knowing the line stunts were a problem from 07, 08, 09. So on one play with the DT's performing a twist stunt, I let the play run then paused it. Then I asked Ian could I have his ear for a sec. I showed him the problems. Both DT's were 1) standing up; 2) bumping into each other. So I actually demonstrated a little bit of how it should work. Ian grabs his laptop and pulls up the tools. We are sitting there examining animations and which ones we can swap out to get this thing working right. Adembrowski comes over and we are all three looking at options.

We finally come up with a very well animated twist stunt by the Defensive Tackles (for the most part). Ian says, hold on about 15 mins and I should have it loaded up in your build. He loaded it up and the twist stunt with the DT's worked a hell of a lot better. The looper is still going a tad bit further than I would like, but the penetrator is doing his stunt perfectly. Since then, I have sent Ian and Anthony White an entire list of defensive plays where the stunts need smoother animations, with more precise stunting, better looping by linebackers as they loop with Dlinemen ect (I have gone through all the 3-4 sets, Nickel, Nickel Strong, Dime, Dime Flat, Dollar, 46, Nickel 2-4-5, Nickel 1-5-5, I'm going to send the 4-3 plays either tomorrow or Thursday). So all they need to do with that is swap out the animation sets. If they get all of the plays I have for them swapped out with smoother animation sets then I anticipate some really nice schemes. My idea is for you to simply audible to a blitz without having do much setting up at all.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: The Importance of an Early Community Day (New Screenshot Incl

This is just my opinion.....

I understand how important this Community day was. A Community day that actually mattered. Were feedback and suggestions can be added to this years game. Which with past CD, just wasn't the case. This maybe a bit harsh but...imo, past CD were more like sales events, than anything of real value to us as a community.

I understand how important who attended this CD was. And personally I have faith the right people were chosen. In my opinion...only a fool would have attended this CD without proper knowledge of what "Sim" football really is. Because eventually you would be found out if you didn't. And have to rightfully face the wrath of the board. To be honest...I don't envy these guys whatsoever. They accepted one helluva responsibility I myself would never want. And when they are allowed to post their impressions...their going to be facing more questions than I can even imagine.

Again...this is just my opinion...but I don't think these guys should have to feel as though they have to defend, their selection, as those who were chosen to attend. I'm hoping the same thing doesn't happen this year, that seemed to happen last year. That a few Community leaders were kind of treated like...one of "Them". And there seemed imo, to be a few, that kinda did.
