I could see why this would be a concern. I'll give my opinion on it. No matter how much sh!t talking goes on in this board and others, given the opportunity to go down there and pretty much get an exclusive hands-on, ANYONE could go down there and get caught up in the experience.

But you have to remember something. We were basically playing the game from maybe 10:30 or 11AM to 4AM. After an hour or three, the newness effect wears off. Some people took a different approach with feedback. For example, most of us were penning feedback starting from the first game. I jotted down a couple things, but b/c the game was new to me, I waited a little bit before I really dove into detail. So by the 3rd or 4th game when the newness was wearing off, I could really give an accurate assesment of Madden 10.

To take things a few steps further, at least half the group has sent additional feedback (I'm talking multiple pages worth) to the team's way after the trip. Personally, I just sent more thoughts off last night in hopes of being more organized and looking at several aspects of the game from a well rested and objective point of view. Not to take credit from our initial impressions while down there; I just think that it's beneficial to take a step back from the game, get some rest, think things over, and then deliver sound feedback.

Wow...people questioning the integrity and the "football IQ" of the 8 chosen to attend. Who didn't see this coming.

Not kissing up but if I could choose one person to represent my idea of what football should be like on a videogame LB would be that guy

I'm glad you said that, because it allows me to say this... I think everybody--myself included--was very vocal about what they thought sucked and pulled no punches.

Everyone was just being real and I was really impressed by that. If we thought something sucked we said so. If it was good we said so. I had a few ooo-ahh moments right alongside a few "Nah, that's not right" moments.

Like I eluded to earlier, for it to be an Alpha build it sure had an awful lot of potential. The framework is really strong. I've tried early software before and saw no potential and that actually happens a lot, so when you see strong potential in an Alpha it's certainly a nice glimmer of hope.
