Re: Madden NFL 10 Blog: Customization

'everybody expected the Giants to stop the Patriots from scoring with 35 seconds left.'

Exactly, not because the Giants were expected to make a big play or force a turnover. They could play a loose coverage and give the patriots anything they wanted underneath because there wasnt nearly enough time to score moving the ball that way.

At no point was I blaming the clock for letting the offense score in the scenario I gave in the first post. The point is that in that situation, with no acc clock under 2 min, I am not playing defense as if there is 1 minute left. I have to play it as if there are still a few min left.

I somehow did a button combo and prematurely submitted my Reply.

I'll finish...

INJURY SLIDERS-Excellent. I do agree that having a slider for Injury Frequency and a slider for Injury Severity would be cool, but having an Injury Slider at all is great.

User vs. CPU Gameplay Sliders-Thank you for bringing these back.

Game Speed Slider-Excellent addition, as I to have felt that Madden play has become too hectic and it's hard to follow the gameplay. I'm slowing that baby down now. Great!

Pre Game??!!-While not totally understanding what this will be, if it's anything like what 2K5 did, this is GREAT news. Presentation Presentation.
Leverage that ESPN license, guys! Potential great news here.

I play strictly offline Franchise and I'm very encouraged by this blog, Iain. What it really comes down to is giving us the ability to Customize pretty much the entire gameplay and presentation to our liking. We're all going to see things differently (example-my Auto Replay will always be on OFTEN). I've been hammering for this one for years now.
I've been playing Madden for 20 years and have become quite jaded since it's introduction to the 360. Dare I say this year may finally get us to where we should have been 4-5 years ago??

A sincere thanks to Iain and Team for listening to us.

I'm going to add one more thought/request from your Team to consider, and I've plugged for this before. If at all possible, please enable some POST PLAY ACTION a la 2K8 where I can come in with a late hit and get flagged for it. The continuation of play was so cool in that game and it would be great to have in Madden. PLEASE PLEASE.

Thanks again, Iain / Team
Great progress.

Perhaps, but the object of defense remains the same. You have to stop them.

I checked the new Madden NFL 10 website. They mentioned a brand new animation system. I know they said the same thing last year for Madden 09. But they also said something about the QB being able to avoid the rush by stepping up in the pocket, dragging a defender towards the first down marker, and fighting for a fumble in a pile-up. A pile-up!

God, I know its April Fool's Day, but don't joke around about this. Let your will be done...

...and if you guys can't or won't do it [design it into the game], then at least build the capacity into the game wherein "the brighter entrepreneurial types" like myself can collaborate with you in business to create "Aftermarket Memorycard Accessory Items" that can be purchased with the same features & benefits. I am sure beyond doubt that countless other diehard gamers/fans have an occasional desire to Fantasy Draft, Trade, Risk, Build/Manage a Franchise Mode that includes the same and similar Players, Coaches, Asst-Coaches, Custom Playbooks User-vs-User, User-vs-CPU, and even to view CPU-vs-CPU Season, Tournament, Franchise and or Play Now ability.

No valid excuse NOT to add these Madden NFL Type features versus "create a fan" type things. EA Sports has more than enough resources to expand any necessary NFL Hall Of Fame licensing agreement, including an agreement for use of Historic NFL Player's Names & Stats (even if you have to think outside the box [or expand a new one] by creating a benefit for past NFL Greats who gave so much to develop the game we love today... from the additional profits of using their names).
I agree madden should have classic teams like 07 giants 89 49ers and 85 bears 76 dolphins and you don't have to get everybody sign Ian create the teams and for example: Bo Jackson you can just put 34 instead of his name and put it on Ea locker so people can edit the players name jersey. not attributes. i miss playing with the guy who made football what it is today that would be son fun if we could have the 85 bears play the 72 dolphins. please Ian consider this. I would like response what u think.

this is probably the dumbest post I've read today (along with your others in this thread). Obviously the defense has to stop the offense but how does that take care of the problem that joet6683 stated? Under 2 minutes, team run no huddle to save time. In Madden, it is just as quick to go back to the huddle and call another play and in the case of 20+ yard gains, it is actually quicker to get in the huddle. They need to fix this problem... saying "You have to stop them" doesn't do anything and frankly makes you sound like a douche.

I can't answer for Ian, but I don't think an NFL licensed game will approve any late hits. I could be wrong, though.
