LOL. You seem angry Joet. Be coooooool man, everything is good
I have no disagreement with how time can often change playcall decisions to a large degree. I've experienced this firsthand on the field in real life myself. But that doesn't negate the fact that no matter what, the expectation is that you work within that on defense, make plays, and get the defensive stop.
When I played football, I played defensive end most of the time. We had a lot of games where at the end it was up to us to stop the opposing offense and secure a win. That was our job. It didn't matter if there were 3 mins left or 30 seconds left. We had to stop them, anything less is unacceptable and no one is going to accept any excuses when you blow a game late like that. We always did get the stop for 2 seasons... except for one game.
In the one game where we failed, we gave up a late TD on a drive that started at the opposing teams 4 yard line. We lost. When we hit the locker room the coach exploded on the defense for not making the plays we needed in the clutch and he was 100% right. I didn't leave the field that day blaming the clock or anyone else but myself, and I think the rest of the defense did the same. We had no excuses, we just didn't get it done.
Yes, the clock is important, but you can't blame the clock on not being able to make a defensive stop. You have more of an argument offensively if you don't have much time left, for example I don't think anybody expected Brady to move the team all the way down field against the Giants with 35 seconds left, but you better believe that
everybody expected the Giants to stop the Patriots from scoring with 35 seconds left.
