I understand. I didn't realize it was still around 3 months until the game was released. It feels so late in the year, the info is bittersweet. More sweet though. Since you are the gameplay guy maybe you will be able to help us out with the Madden posts and let us know if they are in NCAA too.

Also, is NCAA 10 using the engine Madden 09 used? And is Madden 10 using it with just a different art style than NCAA. Or are we going to be playing on two different engines like last year.

Re: NCAA Football 10 - Designer Chat

It's a huge boost to my expectations to see the OL/DL getting worked on.

The core of NCAA should be the OL/DL interaction. The game is won in the trenches..both on the field and in video games.

Some of my questions....

1. Will 90+ rated Defensive Ends and Defensive Tackles truly be difference makers this year? I.e. Will I see a Defensive line full of High 80s and 90s rated studs DOMINATE an inferior line of 70 and low 80 rated O linemen?

2. Will Defensive Ends truly make an impact this year? Rarely did my 95 rated DE get more than a sack a game, with little to no QB hurries or consistent pressure on the QB.

3. Will Dominant Defensive tackles force O lines to double team him?

4. Will 95 rated Offensive linemen dominate inferior D linemen? Will my All American Guard bulldoze 72 rated Defensive linemen for my running attack? Will my 95 rated OT continuously dominate that 74 rated DE he goes against?

5. Is suction blocking still prevalent in the game?

6. Has the ludicrous number of pancake blocks and "head over heels" flipping of Defensive linemen...some plays as many as all 4 down linemen getting flipped on their butts after the snap....has this been decreased substantially?

As posted previously...my major gripe with NCAA 09 was the complete and total lack of defensive presence and lack of difference between 90 rated players and 60 rated players.

The only area that seemed to matter was "speed"...nothing else. If LSU or Auburn is facing Louisiana Monroe...they should be absolutely DOMINATING both lines of scrimmage. Same if they are playing North Texas, Western Kentucky, etc.

If teams are more evenly matched...then that also should be represented. Just because it's LSU....if I'm Auburn and my Linebackers and Defensive linemen are all much higher rated overall against an LSU line of 70 and 80 rated linemen....I should get the edge on most downs.

Love to hear how you guys plan on addressing these issues in NCAA 2010.

It is very frustrating to see most of my sacks come from blitzing CBs, safeties, and the occasional coverage sack from the DT. I rarely get sacks with my defensive ends and it bugs the heck out of me. When you look at a stat column its usually DEs that lead the team in sacks, along with 3-4 outside linebackers.

Really hope guys like Everson Griffen are racking up big sack numbers in NCAA 10. Excellent post that Russ should definately take a look at, Auburn.

Agreed. I mean, I'm going to be using Louisville just as always this year, and I expect my offensive line to get blown up early on against big teams until I can get some recruits in. That being said, I want to crush some of the smaller schools we play in the trenches.

Re: NCAA Football 10 - Designer Chat

Is it possible to get a screenshot of a post-game Pancake and Sack total between two teams? That would go a long way in proving things are working better.

I sure do miss my o-line getting pancakes, and my defensive ends getting sacks. It seems like it happened so long ago.

I want to be reminded of why people feared Peanut Whitehead on NCAA, and I want to be reminded of why Julius Peppers is an elite DE in Madden.

On of the offensive side of the ball I want to see why guys like Eric Wood where All-Conference, and why guys like Jeff Otah paved the way for RBs.

I want the lines to be MEAN!

Russ could you please suprise us with something in the coming weeks. Like create a school, team specific enterences and atmospheres, or just something that we have not seen.
I been a loyal Ncaa Football fanatic for the past 10 years and the same game that the screens so far have depected are very discouraging. Please bring create a school back it was the coolest thing you every added in any of the Ncaa games so far. Thanks Russ for taking time from day.

I dont know about what everyone else is talking about, but I do know that you guys should bring in the break tackle tech that showed up in Madden last year.
