Possibly in a couple weeks. Possibly longer. It really will end up depending on MS and Sony (and I doubt the PC one is released before the console ones are).

BR was a nice addition BUT if there was no "The Show" I would not have a PS3.

Wow if they are able to fix those things I will be very happy. I have been having fun with the game, but several of those issues have made me pretty frustrated at times. I will probably end up starting over on my sliders since so many of my slider tweaks were to help eliviate a lot of those issues mentioned. I know the AI aggressiveness in hotting is a big one for everyone and it is me, but man does the outfielder errors frusutrate the heck out of me too. Balls just bouncing off the fielder when you are in the perfect position makes me think I am playing a little league game not a MLB game. In my A's franchise Matt Holliday had 7 errors in the first 8 games. 6 of them like I just described, only one was a throwing error that was my fault. It made me make my errors down to 0 because any other level wouldn't make it stop. But then of course I probably don't have enough errors now because of it, so that fix will be good.

Heh I wish. I'm sure they're talking about some people playing online who are having problems where the pitching hud disappears after subbing in a new pitcher.

But I like your idea better.

Does anyone know if the animations will be cleaned up with this patch? I would think so. Its funny everytime they cut to the pitcher or he throws it to a base and the ball gets thrown back to the pitcher, he always walks off and around the mound..lol thats needs to be cleaned up amongst other things you guys already know Also, players animations that slides in to thier postions like they are walking on water needs to be fixed.

Haha, probably not. Things like that do take you "out of the experience", but I think you and I would agree that if you have issues that disturb the fundamentals of gameplay, those SHOULD take precedence over other flaws, which may be "ugly", but don't have much of a substantive impact on the baseball experience. Of course, there are other considerations, such as how easy a problem is to fix, or "what we know how to fix" that are going to come into play as well.

I really think that if this game had shipped with out the 2 or 3 key gameplay issues (let's say: OF flyballs, base tagging, and aggressive hitting AI), then you would not have seen the constant flaming about how this game and The Show are not even close to being in the same league. The Show would still clearly be a superior and more polished title, but a 360 owner would've been happy enough with 2k9 that something like seeing "Top Fielder in 216" on the screen wouldn't ruin the experience.

Re: Major League Baseball 2K9 Patch #2 Details

Funny, but back when there weren't any exclusive licensing agreements it did not seem like there were as many problems with these games. Granted, they were less sophisticated then.

The irony is that without competition these companies should not feel as much heat to get out the games by such-and-such a date. MVP wasn't going to 'beat' 2K9 to the market no matter what. They shouldn't even feel the heat to add new big features every single year; no competition, so worry about refining and getting the basics done right.

Sure, all games have strange glitches and exploits. And while I like this game, what surprises me is that so many recent sports games have had glaring problems that should be noticeable if someone plays one or two games. The type of stuff quality control should catch on the first pass.
