No, because as the seasons in your franchise progress, what happens in it really begins to diverge from what happens in the NFL. One great Franchise mode would keep me busy for a year max, because not even the most dedicated Franchise player can keep up with all the roster changes, coaching changes, uniform changes, etc.

NOT TO MENTION the annual feature updates.


If I may, I believe the only real reason the Franchise mode has been lacking is because the limited resources of the development team were spent elsewhere. With Head Coach guys on staff now, I would expect to see some nice upgrades in Franchise mode.

And since when has a great product LOWERED the chances that a customer buys the NEXT product from the same people? If anything, a greatly improved franchise mode will solidify and add a lot of consumer loyalty. Consumer loyalty is the wild card factor in supply and demand that every supplier would like to have on their side. Consumer loyalty = profit.

I'm just today getting wind of this thread and Ian's original post. I have been playing APF since launch day and still LOVE it.

I bought Madden and played it for awhile and did feel it was better than previous next gen versions but it just could not hold me for very long. Keep in mind, that I was on the APF forums speaking positively about Madden. In the end though, , it fell short for me.

I have read a lot of posts leading to my post now and i can understand why some are a little critical because they feel they have heard similar "hopeful' comments before.

But, as for me, I actually believe that the team means what they say and I am not as skeptical. I'm hoping for a very sound game of football and am hopeful that this team will deliver.

If nothing else, I am very impressed that the Madden team are willing to communicate with us.

Atleast sideline reactions, The coach is ACTUALLY on the sidelines, players celebrating hardcore. Gatorade spilled on the coach. A legend or someone presenting the trophy to the players.
An MVP announciation clip.
And the trophy being held up in glory as the camera pans upwards.
That makes me feel like i achieved something.

Wow, "Everything you see on Sunday, see it in Madden NFL", thats gonna be crazy! Ive NEVER heard Madden make such a great statement like that before! So excited about madden 2010! EA SPORTS "ITS IN THE GAME".
