therefore Pitchers aren't human and just go up to bat for the hell of it

That's was one of the funniest things I've read yet.
It's all good..I kinda got what you meant but the wording was classic.

I was wondering if anyone experinced this, but the check swing isnt as forgiving as 08. Meaning you have to barely grazed the button to get a check swing where in 08 you can press the button a little harder and still get a check swing.

I found the check siwing in 08 to be executed better, but its a demo so hopefully its gets fine tuned like it was in 08.

Anyone else?

I am still early on everything at the plate, I'm struggling like hell to to adjust from 08.

At least I hit 3 HR tonight on default Veteran mode, one was a moonshot with Carlos Pena on a hanging curve that felt really damn good.

Yea i actually figured it out how it works with the rings. But it does not work at all. Same as last year, i thought they said they were going to fix this?

I'm almost convinced that Legend & All Star difficulty are switched in my demo..at least in the batting department
Haha I've actually experienced the same thing...

For me on the higher difficulties the CPU simply pitches "smarter." So on a 0-2 count, I'm thinking breaking ball away (or fastball high) - nothing in the strike zone - and am much more likely to get it than with the same count on the lower difficulties. (The same goes for a 2-0 count - expecting a fastball - and so on). So as such I can be a "smarter" hitter too.

If that makes any sense.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

I had a weird play last night:

Runner on first, Hamels up to bat less than 2 outs, I´m the Phillies and because Hamels is not that bad at the plate i did not go for the bunt, BUT on a check swing by him he makes contact with the ball (was that in ´08???) and the ball landed between the pitcher and the first baseman coming in to make the play. At least it seemed as if he wanted to make the play..... no no he stopped 6 ft away from first and also stopping was the pitcher a couple of ft off of the mound to watch the ball slowly dribble to RF????!!!! Nobody felt responsible to cover 1st. The funny thing is the CATCHER ran out to RF to get the ball when everybody was safe a long time already.

I remember reading a couple of posts that this Catcher thing has already been in ´08 right?

But other than that this is just a great game and I can´t wait to get my hands on that s*cker!!!

Anyone else not getting the game to run in Dolby Digital, when connected via HDMI into a receiver that's capable of HD Audio?

No matter what I do I can only get the DEMO to run in LPCM. This also goes for 08.
