Major League Baseball 2K9 Video (Gamespot)

Hopefully the case is 2k made the game playable this year, and next years game will be the real deal.

I think this is an improvement which will definitely be a solid playable title but there are just so many things which irk me.

-I hate that they change the hit stick for casual players and it looks stupid when the guy playing just would hold it back before the ball came
-the yankee unis/hat look god awful; why is the logo so big? Names on the back of jerseys look weird as well
-crowd looks good but the stadiums just lack that it factor which make them look life like and majestic
-I hate the pitching circle
-Commentary is better but still needs work. Thorne was meh but Phillips was good
-Kill the organ player
-The animation look funky a times
-The ball looked so awkward leaving Lesters hand in one vid
-The graphics need a huge upgrade, it looks bland multiple player faces are way off and skin tone is off on many people to.
-bat sounds need work

I know there trying to revive a dead franchise and need time however this doesnt look like it will fit my interest

The more I watch these vids, the more I am impressed.

Some stiffness still going on which I'm sure they'll get ironed out for 2010.

Next year is going to be crazy.

I'm actually finding that the more I watch these vids the more I am not too excited for this game...they really had something going with 2K7...if they would just take the presentation from 2K9 and plug it into 2K7 then we would have a gem...as it is, I'm not too confident with 2K baseball going forward...

Positives:
-Presentation is much better. Nice commentary and camera angles
-Nice hit variety

Negatives:
-The game looks very washed out and bland.
-Homerun bat sounds are laughable
-Organ music, dear God the organ music!
-Still seeing those WTF? 2k moments that kill the game.

That Soriano play was just bad all around. I'll blame the user for not catching the ball, but there was a runner on 2nd at the time. Ball goes to the wall, relay comes in to 2nd base where Pujols is safe. Than the Cubs throw home where the CPU runner from 2nd is just now getting there and proceeds to attempt a hook slide straight through the catcher and is called out. No part of that play looked/felt realistic.

In the Yankees vs. Red Sox video, on Damon's HR, I watched the crowd, and loved they way they all stood up slightly staggered as it started to go deep. Great little touch.

Its actually very simple...all they need to do is get someone to take the time to photoshop the caps of all the players that switched teams..

On my list of priorities, that's just below having vendors calling out "popcorn! peanuts!"

I'd rather they work on, say, making it easier to draw walks vs. the AI.
