Love the demo and the variety. One game finished 6-4 with scoring on hr's, errors and xbase hits. Next game ended on a walkoff hr for a 1-0 victory.

One very strange play however. Man on second for me (phils). Infield mile high popup towards second, second baseman goes to cover second, first baseman covers towards first. RIGHT FIELDER RUNS ALL THE WAY IN FROM HIS POSITION TO CATCH THE BALL. He caught it on the infield dirt! It is a demo, but I hope this was fixed for the final version.

After more demo time, it just feels like everything is perfected.

Some of the little things that were not working right, are now fixed. I literally feel like anything could happen at any point.

If there was ever a time where a dev team could claim their game "organic", this is it.

Hey guys,
I have a quick question. I don't know if it's due to this being the demo, but when I am pitching ( i tried out the camera where it's from behind the pitcher like in real life) and I throw a ball or strike, the catcher starts the motion to throw it back to me and then it just kinda blips and then it's back in my pitchers hand. I don't have fast play on and I don't remember if this was the case last year. Can someone tell me if this happens to you, or if it's the demo or for that matter any other reason for the occurrence.

Can that happen Chris?

Jimmy - Too fast
Werth - Perfect
Chase - Bat needs to come down lower but great job with front leg and the way he holds the bat.
Ryan - Pefect(was in the game last year)
Raul - Fine
Vic - Perfectly fine(love the high leg kick)
Pedro - Same as last year...Fine with me.
Ruiz - Great bat motion, its perfect...but like Jimmy's its way to fast.
Raul Ibanez is way off...have you seen ibanez bat before? lol

Won't let me post a link to a video, but search youtube with "raul ibanez" and choose the one where he doubles home everyone at wrigley field against the cubbies.

Holds his bat much higher above his head, and doesn't have his legs as wide...also a slight open stance as well..If its not updated by the full retail version, will probably have to find someone elses who comes close.

ps. Where did BSG go when ibanez's turn was up?? lol, someone wake him up! jk He's practically the only starter from either team who didn't get a good stance upgrade...especially since I think he needed it nearly the most. lol oh well.

While you can't substitute, you can have the CPU pinch hit for your pitcher. Just switch controller sides right before your pitcher comes up to bat. Obviously, the CPU will only do it if it makes sense. I keep playing games into the 8th and 9th because I can pitch well but can't hit worth crap

Anyway, just a neat little workaround. You can experiment with this during pinch-run or relief pitcher situations too I suppose.

That doesn't work. I decided to just get crazy and for a laugh, plunked something like ten batters in a row with Kazmir and he was not given the heave ho.

I got it to work in the 08 demo by plunking around 5-10 in a row, then just as I plunked the next guy, quickly switch teams. The computer may then decide to swap the pitcher out. Thats how I did it last year...I got all the way to papelbon when i was the rockies...lol

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

This is my first exposure to the MLB the Show series. Wow, now this is next gen sports gaming. Steroid scandals or not I'm actually going to follow the baseball season for once because of this game. A few questions though:

I hit a home run and the camera automatically switched to a cinematic camera angle of the batter watching it go. Is this random? Because I would still like to see the classic camera following the ball out of the park. And is batting solely timing based? So I can't adjust the location of the swing? Again this is my first experience with MLB the Show.

I'm definitely picking this game up on release and will have something else to use my PS3 for than just a glorified Blu-Ray disc player.
