Maybe you cant see it becasue your playing it on a last gen tube there jim...ya know...the one that you have to get uo and turn the knob for the channels! LOL J/K For real though I went to my vizio 32" LCD upstairs and its sill the same deal.

Demo Impressions:

The Good:

I hit a ball down the line that went to the wall and I coasted into second with a double. Huge improvement over last year.

The suction action that used to happen when you approached grounders and fly balls seems to be toned down and fielding overall feels more "free" and "natural".

Sweet new annimations.

Seems like there is more randomness with balls off the bat.

cool shadows/lighting (not a major deal for me but it does look better)


The Bad (nothing major):

Still no on screen stats.


This is only after one 5 inning game...

I have a new topic: Animations....

I have only seen a couple of new animations for 09...there are supposed to be over 700, correct? I haven't seen any new throwing or fielding animations, I have only seen the outfielder lunge forward to make a catch and then go into a roll....what is everyone else seeing? I hope there are more obvious animations that I haven't seen yet...

No, and here is the explnation for that.

I will try to not be so technical.

The game runs @ 60FPS in 720p

The game runs @ 30FPS in 1080p

If the framerate (FPS) dips from 60 down to 42 or so FPS in 720p, some with a trained eye will notice it big time.

The fix covered, forces the game to run in 1080p which is already lower than said (hypothetical for arguments sake) framerate dip. Thus may not suffer from a dip at all.

Thus making you think it is "fixed" but in reality, you are just seeing the game in 30FPS and not it's 60FPS glory.

No worries, Pedroia hit for the cycle off of me and they acknowledge it. There's plenty of situational stats in the full game.
