LOL. I just had one turned on me too. 3-6-1. There were a couple of new animations on it that I don't believe I saw in '08. I tried a take-out slide too, but that didn't get me too far.

Yea Jim no worries, the game is FANTASTIC and I really had to STARE at many pitches to see it. SCEA really has OUTDONE themselves with this product.

Pitching is a little tougher than 08 which is awesome. It was a bit too easy in 08. I noticed in the demo that even if I got my pitch meter perfect, sometimes the ball would go out of the strike zone based on how tired my pitcher was. nice

Damn goh! That's a game-log and a half.

That would have taken up at least 4 pages of countryboy's 100 game notebook.

Re: MLB 09 The Show Demo Up - Impressions

for anyone interested, if you press start you can see how the defense is positioned against your batter or you can use the batter's eye.

And again, for anyone interested, the cpu does move his fielders around for your hitter. The Rays just put the overshift on for Howard. Bartlett is now playing to the right of 2nd base.

Sliders to play with.

Got 2 strikeouts and a ground out to Howard in the top of the first.

Full count lead off walk to start the bottom, now I just need to figure out how to steal.
Wow awful call on the strike and he was safe but they called him out! Rigged umpires even. The running/sliding animation was amazing though.

Nice lighting on the warning track, thought that one was gone. Oh cool they're going over the umps, now I know wich 2 just screwed me over.

Small MVP chant for Utley,it actually builds up,more people chanting now.

Specific ump comments too, mentioning how it's a normally tight ump.

Grounder to 3rd,strike out, base hit and grounder to short wich had a really awesome new low throw animation in the top of the 2nd.

Hahaha their outfileder fell over making a lunging catch.

Mascot antics getting the crowd into it more after a basehit with 2 outs. Nice animation when Victorino thought he had a HR but it went foul and next pitch fades on the track.

Error with the ball thrown into the stands in the top of the 3rd with the pitcher up. He has the jacket on while on the bases and then a blown double play. They get 2 runs out of that mess.

Then Hammels gets screwed out of a walk in the bottom.

Another strikeout to start the top of the 4th. Pop out, weak hit in front of the catcher.

Comeback time!
Also night time.
Pop out.
Walk to Utley.
HR Howard, tie game. They ring the bell.
Crowd is really excited.
Base hit on a 2-2 by Ibanez.
Pitching coach is out.
Crowd even more excited.
Well that didn't work.
Down to Victorino, crowd going absolutly nuts...banging on the steps now.
BS strike 3 called.

5th inning now.
Can't get another pitcher up in the pen.
Nothing significant in the top.

Hammels almost got a hit but it went foul. Nice ball trajectory there. These umps are killing me haha. Kazmir's shoelace is untied. Rollins got one down the middle but only managed to get it out to center.

6th inning.
Another strikeout. 73 pitches for Hammels,4 hits,2 runs,5k's. 2 BS calls going my way but Crawford hits a HR.

Werth pops out,HR Utley,tied again. 3-3
C'mon Howard!
Single to center, not quite what I was hoping for.
Kazmir up to 80 pitches, lined through the hole to the right by Ibanez.
Even Madden looks good.
DP.

7th inning.
Think I'm going to get a full game out of this.
Strikeout #6 to start. 91 pitches.
Great catch by Utley.
Hey the AI gets to sub!!! Base hit too!
Pop out next anyway.

I switched over when Hammels came up but they didn't take him out and lines out.

Into the 8th.
Nothing intresting in the top.
Controller is virbrating in the bottom when I'm up to hit.
Rollins feet actually dig up the dirt when he's moving around in his stance.
Lead off walk!
Sac bunt.
Rollins is all like you da man pointing towards Werth after the sac.
Here comes Utley.
Unproductive flyout.
Crowd going insane again for Howard.
Strikeout.

Into the 9th!
HR right away.
To the bottom.
And we're tied again!

10th!
Leadoff hit leads to nothing in the top.
Fans booing every pitch now. Think they want Hammels out.
Nothing in the bottom.

11th...will it ever end?
Into rediculous territory for a demo.
Another strikeout.
Announcers complaining about not being paid for overtime.
Hit and another sub!
Flyout again.
Gound out on pitch #142
Bottom they sub their catcher even.
2 out single.
Flyout to the track.

12th!
They sub in Burrell.
Mentions that they were teammates last season.
Nothing happening in the top.
Announcers say the fans deserve medal for staying so long.
Another new pitcher for them.
Announcer complaining it's past his bedtime.
Looks like there's some empty seats.
Error! Man on 2nd with 1 out.
Man on 3rd with 2 outs.
Jimmy Rollins up annnnnddddd pops out.

Lucky number 13!
Anounncer saying it's past the other announcers bedtime.
Single for them but that's all.
Werth,Utley and Howard for me,gotta end here!
Right down the middle for Howard and it's foul!
Worst strike call EVER and it's onto the...

14th
Single for them but nothing out of it,moved to 2nd.
Another over the middle that goes foul.
Looks like there's even more empty seats.
Opposite field single past a diving 2B.
Wow that was a fantastic accident. I started the runner with intent to bunt but ended up getting a check swing bloop single into center right between 2nd and CF. If I hadn't have started him that might've been a DP but now I've got runners on the corners and no outs!
Victorino up,hope this is the end. AND IT IS ALL OVER!!![/Mike Goldberg] 3 RUN WALK OFF HR!!! They all gathered around and celebrated at the plate.

Well that was the best game of baseball I ever played.
I feel like i just walked out of a theater...f#@%$ unreal
