Re: The First Official Feature For Madden NFL 10!

Thanks for the update Ian. I think this is something I have to see in motion to truly understand. I get the idea of the players reacting to what they can see, but the user can see all 22 players on the field at the same time.

Will there be "extra" animations to account for the moves the user makes since we have a 360 degree view of the field that a real player wouldn't have?

Even thinking about this makes my head hurt. I'll leave it up to you guys to show it to me. It is interesting stuff.

Re: The First Official Feature For Madden NFL 10!

Thanks for the information guys I appreciate what you guys are doing. Well I guess I will get right down to some of my opinions;

Where else would you like to see PA active?

-Like most have said in the offensive line and RB blocking. Its annoying how sometimes you can send a CB on a blitz, the Offensive Linemen is not even looking and than they just slide over and block.
-Also can you also use the awareness rating to increase and decrease the view of a player? I mean Brady has 100 awareness rating for a reason. Every time a DE is a split second away from sacking him he steps up in the pocket, almost like he has eyes behind his back. I think this should work as well with DBs. I remember one time I saw Champ Bailey look straight at his WR, and ran the WR's pattern right in front of him WITHOUT looking at the QB once, reached in the air and intercepted the ball simply because he knew the exact pattern the WR was running. It was insane he simply ran the route better than the WR and intercepted it, I reviwed the play over and over I just couldn't believe it. I think it was the Seahawks game. I can't find the original video that I saw but I think this one was the play:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eb4jholUOSc
Anyways the point is that some players should have a higher Procedural Awareness than others.

Are there any new attitudes would you like to see?

-I want to see guys get mad, happy, surprised and disappointed.
- Major props if you can get players to do this after they receive a major hit stick:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9jgP1brUn8
I mean I want to see crawling and everything after the hit. NOW THAT would awesome.

Do you have any suggestions on the best area you think we should actually use the attitudes that we’ve created?

- Almost every team has a spiritual leader like Brian Dawkins or Ray Lewis. I want to see them not just look pissed off after every hit, be energized, they should also pump up their team mates. I mean just look at this;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n93Sqi7YLOg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLSrF81Q8rM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTghpkNQEM0
These guys don't just get themselves pumped, they get the whole team pumped. Heck they get the whole stadium pumped.
-Let say its 4th and 15 I want to see this guys pump the team and get the crowd going. I want to hear the stadium roaring even harder when these guys call for noise. I have always noticed the lack of crowd noise when its a big down. I want hear the whole stadium yelling "DEFENSE!!! ......DEFENSE!!!.......DEFENSE!!!" on big downs or goal line stands.
-I want to see the main character guys act like themselves. I want to see TO mad, complaining and yelling at his team mates and coaches. I don't want to see guys like "classy" guys over reacting. I know it can be an issue with getting every single players attitude down but at least get the big guys down, like TO, Lewis, Dawkins, etc.

Humm I am not sure if I went a little off on what you were asking, so sorry if I did but at least consider some of what I said.

i know it's off topic, but i just had to give my lil opinions.
my dissapointment with madden hasn't been the graphics over the years, with the jump to the new consoles them getting better was a given. what the game needs is better precise, Ps2 like controls. i wish with the control scheme would go back to the total control of years passed. although 09 was alot better in the control department, it is still a ways off. it was like playing madden 2003 compared to 2005. well if you gave me the option to go back to old school ps2 control schemes, that would make alot of people happy.

i could deal with the glitches of no look defensive back interceptions, if i had the control to go and contend for the ball myself. "bring the turbo button back the X."

this is my first post, don't usually do it.
plus iam kinda tired.

Go bears!

This is exactly why I think this is a great addition to the game! Believe me Thats one of the things i hated most about madden games, LB & DB's would never look back! Just wave there hands in the air and swat the ball without looking back?? Arhh!

Great stuff Ian. Should have been in the game along time ago... But better late then never.. Keep it comin Ian! I hope the next thing is new running animations and gameplay!

In that demonstration video (the first one with the QB head tracking)>

I would love that view in game, call it the QB cam or something.

Nice and low, close. Would be fun on passing plays.

example....a fly route to plax.......i have a step or 2 on the db...eli throws the rock and i "click in" to the db(asante samuel)....can i swat the ball/put my hand up even though i never turned around as im just running to catch up to the wr?
That’s a necessary evil with human control. MANY gamers will be pissed off if they cannot do a player action under their control. Perhaps there can be awareness factors so it's kinda like swinging at the ball blind, but the ability to do the action must always remain

QB's keeping their eyes downfield while scrambling.

I had Romo scramble right which made him look and run toward the sideline. Only to turn and heave it into the endzone.

Looked funny. He wasn't even looking at the WR when he threw.
