1 - Lower hooking penalty to 1 or zero and the AI won't push the player in front of the net anymore.

2 - raise goalie cover puck to 6 and no more rebounds.

Catch up logic can encompass a lot of things....but I think all EA games are programmed at the higher levels to create " high drama " using the cheats so that the AI makes things close enough and frustating enough to keep the consumer playing.

All EA games have a very similar flow/feel to them and the way that the AI reacts to certain situations is the same with all their games. Basically it's the same scripted story just with different sports.

For example whenever I play one of their sports games it feels just like I'm playing any of the others.....not really any difference in how the AI reacts to certain similar situations across the board.

This EA formula is harded coded into the basic sports engine and is why you have so many identical scripted AI behavioral patterns throughout their sports genre.

For some reason the cpu is more competitive against me now, while not really capitalizing on weak or cheap goals. I can't really explain it. Never had a problem with goal variety with the patch either, so I'm not sure what people are talking about when they say that ways to score are now limited.

The goals i am losing in this game are a joke, playing good defense just isnt rewarded, i dont mind losing the odd strange goal but if the AI wants to score it just feels like it will do whatever it takes to do it.

these are in the same game

I also had one of those goals that never crossed the line given against me, thats what started the AI on its momentum. it really is sickening.

Well you reply as if I sucked , the thing is that I havenīt lost a game, itīs the way the game is played. I still win , as I think I have said a few times. And maybe you feel stick down on dekeing players is more realistic than a sticklift?

Post patch sucks and all it does is benefitting bad players . Dekes got more effective because fools canīt pass and get good lanes. Stick lifts were too effective before, but stickwork now on D is pathetic in comparison. And fools like the checks so they made focus more on that, so now it looks more like bumpercar action on the ice, and the small puck loosing checks are so annoying(because they happen all the time).

You can talk all you want, but what EA did is to encourage players to take the puck to the crease , all the way. Itīs much more % effective and with the dekes itīs so much easier.
Pre patch, chances werenīt as concentrated to the front of the net and as close to the net.

I can still score varied, but this game CLEARLY benefit you if you are right by the net.

ANd my problem is not that I have to resort to cheapness, itīs that EA benefits cheapness with this new patch, and online many people resort to the cheap, and now games are pathetic online compared to before.

And it has to be said, this patch online benefits bad players. They still loose, but the games are boring. ANd hardly realistic.

As for the uber deking I simply get in front and put the stick down and they lose the puck everytime or don't go kamikaze and try to hit everyone.

As for the s moves from the boards all you have to do is stand there and wait and when they come back over the goal line put the sitck down and they lose the puck again and again.

You can defend these tactics. If you are winning game in and game out then why are you complaining? Is it because you can only score this way yourself? I have scored many different ways so I am not sure what has been limited. I've scored from distance and in close without having to resort to anything cheap.

I don't know what I have to do to show that you can score from several places on the ice other that to document it in video proof as well as proof you can defend the dekes easily as well. I think your the one feeling it's bad because you are only using cheap methods to score cause you feel the other methods are too much work when it is not. I have faced alot of the dekers and cheap players and hold them to 1 or 0 goals cause they never get more than 3 shots against me.

That is pretty bad. I'm not trying to 1-up you or anything, but check this out. It goes fast so you have to have a keen eye. I'm already down 3-0 in this game. Langenbrunner has the puck and shoots it at a 45 degree angle. The puck magically changes direction and goes into the net.

It almost looks like the puck is on a yo-yo, or is a boomerang. I named the video "phantom winger", because the only way it could have changed direction like this is if person skating in one-timed it. But there was no-one else there. This goal made me so mad.
