this demo is crazy! The attention to detail is unmatched. My 1 year old son was watching me play. I got a steal with kobe and did a rock the cradle dunk from the baseline and my son said "daaaammmnnnn" LOL.... My 1 year old recognizing real game. I can't wait till i can play the full version.

I did notice that the iso motion has changed just a bit...it's some new animations with the ball handling. It's a nice touch to see ball handlers drop that shoulder as they round the corner on a drive to the hole. I'm impressed

Thumbs up Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

There's not much to add that hasn't already been said about the demo. It's fantastic. I only have a couple observations to post for now.

I am really impressed by the AI of the CPU. When I'm playing with the Lakers it quickly found out that it's not a good idea to have Rondo and KG on the same side of the court whenever the Big Ticket is on the low block because the double team is coming and coming hard. Heh, I show a complete lack of respect for Rondo's jumper while controlling Fisher, having Fish sag into the outside edge of the paint to help drives to the cup from PP and Ray Ray, and dig on all postups by KG and Perkins. After a few possessions, the CPU started running its offense away from where Rondo is standing so that Fish couldn't have much of an impact disrupting things off the ball. Like setting up screening or pick-and-roll action along the baseline with PP and Ray Ray while Rondo stands on the opposite wing and occasionally drifts to the corner away from everything. Clever.

I don't know what his ratings are, but Bynum is beast on this game. He can back down without any problems and put up a baby hook or any type of one-hand flip shot from point blank range on either side of the rim. He can turn and throw down a monster dunk against a who get caught being overzealous and reach for the ball, or "pulling the chair" to try and draw a charge. He even buried a wide open 18-footer on the left wing while I ran a pick-and-pop sequence with Kobe.

By the way, the footwork that can be showcased while posting up on this game is awesome. So many things can be done down there, even while controlling players with limited offensive ability/skill. You just have to be fundamentally sound on execution and also know how to set up the post defender on what you want to do.

The demo is pretty awesome..the 360 version does feel more crisp visually and in the controls department. Overall I'm enjoying the AI, animations, overall feel/pacing, and the positives far outweigh the negatives (jumpshots a little sluggish)..now I'm definitely getting 2K9 can't wait to start a franchise

lol u got ur 1 year old saying damn already?

anyway, not sure if any1 has posted about this but
1. is the intro to the games where they show the highlights of kobe and stuff just for exhibition game or is that how its going to be in association mode too? and if its in association, how will they do that when its all the real players have retired? just a thought.

2. i thought i saw before like the announcers on the floor b4 the game while teh teams were warming up and stuff. what happened to that?

Kids pick up on everything.... LoL.....

The announcers are still going to be there they just cut it in the demo. I also can't select any plays or call a timeout or make any subs.
