No, I've done them successfully with every player in the demo so far, including a variety of variations.

I'm so impressed with the AI In the demo, the way the CPU works off screens etc. And finally having the ability to take a opponent off the dribble Is off the hook!!!

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

The post moves are executed almost exactly the same as last year.
Here are the BASICS

L Stick
-disengage by pulling away from opponent
-Hold R Trigger to Back Down
-Hold R Trigger and press L stick towards the Ball Hand to SPIN around opponent

R Stick
-press and hold any direction for contextual shot, i.e. hook, fade etc
-tap in a direction for ball fake

AFTER A BALL FAKE, you can
-tap in a direction for another ball fake
-hold in a direction for a shot attempt
-execute multiple fakes, attempt no shot(stop) and then go back to your hook/fade options

Y BUTTON
Spin/drop step

The demo is set to pro, so if you do the up and under(tap left/right with R stick, then tap opposite direction) with Pau or KG, you'll score every time they don't double you.

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

I just managed to play 3 quarters in one game no so long ago. I thought for a moment that I was going to be able to play a full game on the demo but at the end of the 3rd, the menu came up asking if I wanted a rematch.

Best game I played on the demo to date because I was able to do my first allyopp from Fish to Kobe with a one handed dunk. Everytime I've tried it, Ray Allen always seemed to get a hand on it so it was quite good to finally hit an allyoop.

I feel the pick and roll in this game is the best it's ever been, no other game has ever made the pick and roll look real enough but 2K9 seems to of nailed it on the head. Live looked good in the demo but after playing 2K9, it can't match it.

I wish we could see the little menus we got in 2K8 like Quick Iso or Quick Post Up, that made it easy to understand and they might be in the full game but I haven't seen them in the demo and therefore, I have no idea what the dpad actually does.

I've also got to get the Live demo out of my system, with Live not using the shot stick, I've gotten use to press X on the 360 when going for a layup or dunk instead of the shot stick, once that is done then the 2K9 will be alot more enjoyable.

Yeah, the up and under isn't as responsive for some reason. Last year they had to tweak it, in the patch. I'll wait until I play the full version before I can give a more accurate assesment though.

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3 Only For Now)

I skipped 2K last year, so it took some catching up to get used to all the new controls and just the feel of the game. I LOVE the demo. Post game is great. I've been switching back and forth between the teams, which is giving me a good idea of how different player types feel. It's nice having a guy like Ray Allen on the perimiter when you get an open look. I only wish I could play with a great PG like Paul. I'm even more excited for this game now. I should probably stop playing the demo, don't want to get sick of it.
