I drew 2 quick fouls on Kobe so they subbed THE MACHINE in. First play, hits a runner to his right over Fisher. Lakers fans getting their wish this year?

Doesn't have the super bearded look, and his hair is still kind of short.

WOW, after I unpaused it cut to a scene of Kobe on the bench waving his fist in the hair and shouting and celebrating the shot.

not to pick a nit, but the other reason most games are optimized on 360 is just plain it's easier to develop for with better tools and a more PC like design. Most games start on the PC actually anyway and easily transfer to 360 and more difficultly sent o PS3 (split memory, less memory available in game, less productive dev tools)

this is not a big screct nor fanboy wishful thinking... it's common knowledge if you frequent any forums where the developers talk about such things.

Am I the only one who feels like 2k9 is like a patch to 2k8? It plays similiar but you notice a difference in certain things like the ISOmotion and player weight, but it doesn't feel nearly as different as 2k8 did compared to 2k7. Not knocking it because I'm going to buy it, just an observation.

I completely disagree. In addition to all of the animations and new features that'll be in the full game, the most important thing(to me) is that they removed major problems that have been plaguing 2k for YEARS.

NUMBER ONE

Irrational ball physics. In past years we had just ridiculous ball warping that practically ruined the game for me. Rebounding, steals, blocks, passing and loose balls were ruined by the ball either magnetizing to, or passing through players. Now I'm seeing the ball look more like it does in a soccer game. It bounces around and people react to it. If you touch it, it moves. FINALLY. I'll be honest, if this was the only thing changed, it'd be worth it for me.

Also-
2k finally has some of what I felt Live had, and if the masses find out about it, I think this war will shift in 2k's direction. 2k used to feel like it was resisting you. Once you found out the system it was great, but upon first play everything felt difficult. Shooting, blocking, stealing...it all had a "gooey" feel. Now it's all crisp and logical. When Paul Pierce goes up for a layup and I contest him, logic happens, not unique 2kisms.

This is the best Bball AI ever.

I'm not going to get into the crowd and the graphics and all that, but I think this is a huge step up, and will be not only a better game, but a more popular game. 2k has always been great at little things and keeping the door open for sim play, but now it has the solidity that I feel when I play Madden, in addition to the subtlety that the 2k series has been famous for.

Pau Gasol had a mismatch where Rondo was guarding him... as soon as I passed the ball to Gasol in the post, Garnett came immediately for the help defense and double team... SWEET

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here

THIS GAME IS SERIOUS!

Graphics: Stunning! Jaggies? Not on my TV. Some faces look better than others, but overall everything looks great!

Sound: The crowd is so responsive to the action on the court!
And the players and sound effects sound great, too!

Control: Not bad. I need alot of practice to master the ISOmotion. But, the payoff is a ton of awesome realistic animations and movement! Great stuff!

I love how the players automatically put a hand in the shooters face! The shooting seems natural and realistic! The Adapative A.I. is great! For the most part, the gameplay on both sides of the ball seem really good! Although, I'm seeing alot of fouls and the game speed seems a bit too fast-Sliders, here I come! Anyway....

This game is oozing so much signature style, presentation, and personality-it's nuts! Wanting a "sim" experience, to buy any other b-ball game on Tuesday would be crazy.

THIS IS NEXT-GEN BASKETBALL!!!!

Give me Player Lock and 2K camera, and I'm ready to go!
