I was able to finally win multiple tip offs by pressing traingle repeatedly before the ref throws it up -

I also just saw Pierce alter his shot on me!!! I recall in Pared's posts that he had not seen the CPU do it - It was a straight up drive by him and went up with the right and up and undered it to the left and in - sweetness.

I finally hit a game winner, down 10-9 I had Bynum set a pick and headfaked with Kobe when the screen was being set, took two dribbles to the middle of the court and burried a wide open elbow jumper as time expired.

I love how the match ups are so much more realistic this year. Big guys can't stay in front of guards and you can really work to exploit mismatches like a IRL. It's even easier w. the new isomotion, it's quick, easy and effective.

I'm also yet to win the tip off after about 25 games.
What was the adjustment you made to figure out the isomotion?

9.5 I don't if it's the lighting or not, but Live looks insane on a hdtv bigger than 20 inches.

Some other things I'm noticing now that I'm also getting the hang of things.

What I said before about lock-on D...not only does the game remember your lock-on assignments through rematches (I think), but it remembers them by player. If Odom switches to Rondo and Fisher switches to Allen, Odom will lock-on dead center giving Rondo space while Fisher would lock-on playing tight and shading to Allen's right to force him to his weak side. That's a great feature that really helps immerse the feature into the game.

And shading in general is SUPER useful in the post against a guy like Perkins, you can absolutely deny him the basket if you cut off his strong shoulder.

edit: Apparently if you're right on the guy when you hit lock-on though, it'll switch to a tight lock on automatically. kind of a bummer.

Man, I still can't get to the basket, but I don't even need to with Kobe any more. Now that I have that back-step-dribble down, and the mid-range is opened up more, I can break Ray Allen down seemingly any time I want to from 12 - 15 feet out. So sweet, so pure.

I just threw a just flat out nasty oop to Odom... he had to reach back to catch it and throw it down... Fast break, Kobe goes to the left, throws it behind is back to the right to underhand the oop to a cutting Odom... Odom reaches out and throws it down.

A Bynum block started the whole 2 on 1...

I'm having a really good time with this Demo. Once I figure the controls out, should get even better. After tweaking the game, I'm thinking we'll have a really nice NBA Sim on our hands.

I think it's a follow through I guess. In 2K8, when doing a crossover I'd hold R2 and just flick the stick and used to let it go and let the animation play out and then press the stick again. Now I keep holding the stick in the direction I crossed in and everything smoothed out.

The biggest thing just now though was using it out of the triple threat position which I couldn't do at all the first 20 games or so I played. L2 & R2 to jab step with Kobe, Ray would step back then get right back up in my grill and I'd just hold R2 and flick to the stick to the left or the right and then hold it at the basket (so usually diagonally up).

I also stopped playing NBA2K8 pretty early last year as I was obsessed with CHoops which had face-button iso moves so I def need to readjust. Maybe this is how things worked all along in 2K8, I just couldn't remember, hehe.
