The more I play this demo, the more I love the game but the more terrible I feel at it. And I was pretty good at NBA 2K6 through 2K8.

Does no one else feel like this almost an entirely different game? Man this is frustrating. I guess not entirely different, but I'm really struggling with finding open shots and getting layups. I haven't shot a single layup yet actually, all mid-range, threes or random dump offs to the paint. And I keep repeating it but I'm absolutely useless with Iso and mid-air adjustments.
maybe stop trying to play it like its 2k6-2k8....take your time and play around. with the limitations of the demo just get used to it..

cheers mate thanks for that.

Tiny size of the demo could explain the low res graphics maybe?

Re: NBA 2K9 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3 Only For Now)

Can someone tell me how to take running layups just like Fisher does every 3 possessions? I used to hit those sweet spots all the time in 2K8 but I can't find any of them in this game.

The rest of my offense is starting to open up a little though.

To the other guy, I don't even personally think this is more than a Beta build if anything. I wonder if that clapping sound is a glitch related to certain plays, because it's never been mentioned in any videos or heard before. And directional passing doesn't always work. So I'm not knocking the game because of any of this, jsut observing that the game is pretty different.

One thing that I don't' believe has been mentioned is, they finally fixed those up close layups. This was evident in Steve's vids but playing the game myself you truly appreciate this. Gone are those ridiculous fade away shots when you're directly underneath the basket. A simply layup off the backboard never looked so sweet.

I will definately be getting this on 360 though. Lowered sharpness or not, I would imagine the 360 looks a bit cleaner...

Seriously.

I think he is trying to say he can't play in 720p and have poor... I don't what he is trying to say.

Take a deep breath, and type.

NOT TRUE. I took a backwards-leaning shot from the left of the basket, which both Kobe and Bynum swatted away from Perkins. He was standing right under the hoop, then with a flick of the shot stick he rotated and jumped backward, holding the ball out over his head in the middle of the court. That was the only time I kind of got angry with this Demo so far.
