Five Reasons Why the Dreamcast Ruled Sports Gaming

Anyone who owned a Dreamcast can and will attest to the fact that it was a very underrated console with a ton of great games. Kris Watson checks in today with five reasons why the Dreamcast ruled sports gaming.

Quote:
"The Sega Dreamcast may not have broken any sales records or established a following that kept the console profitable to this day, but it did help to elevate sports games to a new level. How did it do that? By pumping out some of the best sports games ever. So, here’s my personal list of the top 5 reasons why the Dreamcast ruled the sports gaming industry."

If your talking about the World Series Baseball 2K2 that had Pedro Martinez on the cover then I strongly disagree....That game was horrible except the graphics at that time were nice.Good List otherwise

Re: Five Reasons Why the Dreamcast Ruled Sports Gaming

I remember playing the first 2k game on Dreamcast and loving it. It was such a breath of fresh air to the football gaming genre--tons of fun to play, nice graphics. Ahhh the days when we had choices . . .

Re: Five Reasons Why the Dreamcast Ruled Sports Gaming

I agree with most of the list outside of World Series. NFL/NBA 2k1 were pinacles in sports gaming.

How many of you bought the sweet Sega Sports Black Dreamcast bundle? I did. Then sold it . Then rebought a Dreamcast, but was never able to find the black one again.

I'll never forget playing online for the first time with NFL2K1. It was awesome to play a real game anytime I wanted and type in some trash talk to with my keyboard. I might have to bust mine out and play some this weekend just for old times sake.
