this is some pretty impressive stuff. Live's dribbling system is WAAAAAAAY better than 2k. you have almost no control of dribble moves in 2k, but live's looks very deep and very responsive. that is the advantage of being able to use the right stick for dribbling. live uses the right stick for dribbling, 2k uses it for shooting. i like live's set-up better.

2k's use of the right stick for shooting is totally redundant - you can already use a button to shoot, you don't need the right stick for shooting. as a result of the right stick being wasted on shooting, they have totally limited what they can do with dribbling. 2k needs to get rid of the shot stick and use the right stick for dribbling like live does. i was skeptical when i heard that 2k had decided to use the right stick for shooting and the dribbling would be tied to the left stick. i thought it would never work...and it didn't.

if you watch a video of 2k, the ball-handler never breaks down his man of the dribble. there are no one-on-one moves in 2k. it's all passing. they give you zero options to beat your man off the dribble. their dribbling system is so limited.

i have been an exclusive 2k player since 2k6, but i'm going with live this year. live has been so bad in past years that 2k didn't have to do much to make the better game. now live has stepped up and they have surpassed 2k in most parts of the gameplay.

live has a better post game, better dribbling, better shooting (you can actually shoot quick leaners, turn-arounds, and moving shots off the dribble), and better play-calling. the only thing they need to work on is defense and body contact so it's not so easy to score - if they improve that, then live will be better than 2k in every way.

Serious... can you guys stop mentioning 2k and other games in these threads?

Stop going to the 2k boards talking about Live in those too.

This is about Live's dribbling system only. Let's keep it on that.

These game company fans comments are getting ridiculous

i don't see what's wrong with comparing the 2 games. that's how you improve a game - you look at what someone else has done that is better and you learn from it. as long as you are not mindlessly bashing the other side and being a fanboy, you should be able to discuss the differences between 2 game in a civilized manner.

if someone goes on the 2k board and mentions what live is doing better, maybe the devs will take notice and add that to 2k, and vice versa.

if everyone lives in a vacuum and never observes the competition, then neither side will improve.

That's not the problem.

The problem is that subject doesn't need to be in Czar's thread.

This is not a comparison thread. People don't care about all of that, we just want to talk about the video.

Man u got it perfectly right with ur comments i as well have been a 2k player forever but for all the positives u mentioned live stands out in the category of realism...2k has live beat by far in the looks department, but i prefer substance and 1 on 1 basketball over looks any day, plus lives looks have improved over last years version

GEEMONSTER SERIES – PART 2

SHOUT OUT TO DA_Czar

Here l go again with the craziness

1.) Including a new TURBO SYSTEM that vibrates the control. First off ppl have been talking about its easy to go to the basket in Live so l was thinking about adding a function that makes you use your jumper more often. So here has it goes... You push turbo and ur guy is running up field but is bumped by the defender.

A. He will either stumbles forward or backward losing the ball depends on the defender. (reason because ppl in live use the cross over and the spin too much and the defender moves out of the way for some reason AKA EASY DUNK OR LAYUP)

B. He travels because he loses control holding on to the ball charging forward. (ppl know what l am taking about) charging running back style and falls forward while your holding the ball in your head. --- this works when u charge in using the cross over with no place or no path to go.

C. Falls flat to the floor causing him to sit there looking for a team mate to pass too. On the defender side he can still use lockdown on your while your on the floor. JUMP BALL!!!!

2) VIE MOVES. Just like Jordan’s shoot vs JAZZ “the good old push off”. This move is a sneaky move that creates space its cause when you are the ball handler the defender is on you you push in the L3 or R3 creating space. HOWEVER.... this move can only be done by players who are in the league for 5 years or more. Players like Sam Cassel would be a master at this. BUT you can also foul. ¼ chance but it can play off.

3.) FLOOR GENERAL MOVE. I played the demo and l realized that sometimes l want my players to move places but they don’t for some reason. KG DIDNT MOVE TO THE BASTKET SO FOR THE ALLY. How about borrowing from Madden 2004 Vick over. Holding L1 and when the CPU player on your team as the little circle on him you can move him to a certain position on the floor.

4.) TROPHY SYSTEM.—LINKED TO THE PS3/XBOX360...This is something l was thinking about a Bronze/Silver/Golden shoe that everyone gets once they play and win games. Here is the kicker... this shoe can be taken away from you from invite games or from even the NBA Academy when you play then one on one. This SYSTEM includes money games that you can agree on through XBOX points or PS3 points.

STAY TUNE FOR....GEEMONSTER PART 3....
